The first in an expected avalanche of Milton Bradley rumors spread across the Internet on Saturday after a Toronto Sun report of a possible Bradley-for-Vernon Wells deal. A Cubs source quickly responded to the report by saying the rumor has "no legs at all," adding the team has not discussed the possibility of bringing Wells to the North Side.

I'd trade this f00l for a Plastic Man comic book and some Juicy Fruit, and not even dicker over the gum.

Whereas Mr. Bradley's value is measured in Chiclets, Cubs ownership would be EXCEEDINGLY foolish to think there was a benefit to this deal. The Jays corporate office would look as smart as Obama's teleprompter if they could divest themselves from that ridiculous contract of Wells'...........

When you are using the Toronto Sun for a "source", you are seriously screwed. It is the integrity partner of the New York Post.

Matthews, Jr would be a great fir for the Cubs. This is the place where he started to show some MLB talent. But, the Cubbie br-ass decided that Corey Patterson was the better prospect. Jr. just needs out of Anaheim!

someone explain why the jays would want to trade for Bradley? I mean he hasn't fit right anywhere because of his "uneven" disposition...

'great fit' ?
the guy had ONE good juiced year pre-contract....
he's mediocre
he's nothing more than a 4th outfielder or a starter on a bad team

Mathews Jr. is "nothing more than a 4th outfielder or a starter on a bad team".

Which means he could start in the outfield for the Cubbies, without a doubt. Do you really think that Soriano will bounce back? Or that one of their collection of one dimensional outfielders will step up? Please! Only Fukudome is an adequate player, and he is vastly overpaid and goes through major slumps because of his bush league swing.

but soriano already has a GIGANTIC contract
he ain't being moved- unless they eat ALOT of $$
and contracts aside- sorianos still probably better than GM

Actually yes Soriano will bounce back now that he got his knee fixed. In typical Cubbie fashion they blew it with him. When he hurt it they should've scoped it and salvaged his year instead of having him try to play thru it. After a week or 2 it was obvious that wasn't working yet they kept putting him out there. Cubs doctors are really proven to be idiots over the years with Wood, Prior, etc, so what they did with Soriano doesn't surpsrise me. Sadly.

The Mets fans think the Cubs doctors are just fine

Since the league started testing for "vitamins" in earnest, Vernon Wells' power numbers and defensive prowess have made a sharp dip. He has 5 years left, HUGE money owed, and is widely viewed as in decline. This is not a player for Jim Hendry; however, Sabean hasn't met an overpriced veteran he didn't want. The Jays should be on the phone to San Francisco, not Wrigley!

Why don't you hit the Report Abuse button? It's obvious that daddy slapped you around one time too often. Maybe you should go cheer on the Bears, they could use more fans like you. If Lovie listened to a superfan sports radio geek like you, they wouldn't be 4-3 right now. I'd bet that all of the teams you follow are as successful.

No his knee is why he is a liability in the outfield.....the curveball problem is still unexplained.

I wonder if MLB will allow Bradley to wear "HE HATE ME" on the back of his uniform. Where ever he goes, someone has it out for him. I'm sure there is someone in Toronto just waiting for him to get there.

November 1, 2009  09:35 PM ET

dear tom ricketts:here is my advice for you fire you gm jim hendry.look at milton bradley in rf $30 million for 3 years when he could have signed bobby abreu for $5 million for one year.you said you want to improve wrigley field well start by firing your gm.sign a brewer fan

It's hard to imagine anyone trading for Milton Bradley, unless they're kids want board games for Christmas. Wells contract is unreal but still doesn't solve the problem of some much needed left handed punch. Maybe the Ricketts will post the GM job on monster.com? Hendry is a loser.
