Browns may turn to Quinn

Don't be surprised if the Browns turn to Brady Quinn at some point before the end of the season. I doubt it will be this week in Chicago, or even after the bye week against Baltimore. But the Browns do know that Quinn should get another chance so they can evaluate him once more. The Browns have been impressed with his work ethic and attitude, especially since the passing of the trading deadline.

Wow. And the trainwreck continues in Cleveland.

They could always try to coax Troy Aikman out of retirement. But I guess we won't hear about that for another seven years.

You know it's really unfair to parade the Brown's misery out in public. In fact they might consider taking the names off the uniform to avoid player embarrassment

Again, it's Mangenius so I'm not sure why anyone would be surprised.

Aside from beating New England when he coached the Jets, what has Mangini done as a head coach?

November 1, 2009  08:37 AM ET

The Browns were 4-12 in 2008 and averaged 14 pts. a game. The cupboard was bare and the wolves were at the door. I believe they lost their last six games. Their locker room looked like the cast of " One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest."
Still too early to judge the management change. I think they were a lot worse than people thought.

I feel sorry for the Browns

I think this is just a variation of his not revealing who his starting QB is, thinking it will give him an edge. It is a sad state of affairs, but the owner made this choice, remember how quickly he hired him.

They like his work ethic and attitude? That's like saying your blind date has a nice smile and a great personality.

There are only (3) things that will definitely happen for the Browns in the off-season.
1. They will fire Eric Mangini.
2. They will get rid of one of these two quarterbacks.
3. The quarterback they get rid of will be a back up.

This team could have cut bait with Quinn at the draft, and taken Mark Sanchez. The dumb keep getting dumber.

Nice choice: Quinn vs Anderson. Paul Brown has to be spinning in his grave.

I'm not sure how much better Sanchez is going to be. It is really early to state that Sanchez is some sort of savior, especially given how the NY media is parading that line around.

They are going to have a very high draft pick, why not get rid of both of them, and start over. It may be the best chance they have.

Agree - just make a clean break, draft a new kid, bring in a seasoned vet and move on.

Too much baggage with either of the present guys...

Given he could only beat the Pats after Brady went down. He beat a team with their backup QB, congrats Mangenius.

I cannot understand why the Browns hire Mangini to be their HC. Surely there were better options available.

Hell, you and I would have been better options.

Speak for yourself. I like to use the Atlanta Falcons as an example of how a team can turn around with a good GM and HC. Seems to make a huge difference. To my shame, I had never heard of Mike Smith.

Don't be surprised if the Browns turn to Bernie Kosar at some point before the end of the season.
