Damon to White Sox?

If the Yankees don't bring Johnny Damon back, the White Sox look like a good fit. They need a leadoff hitter, and while they'd love to sign free agent Chone Figgins and move him to the outfield, he may get too pricy. While Damon has been a No. 2 hitter for the Yankees, he could easily go back to the top spot and give the White Sox some leadoff power.

I think this is a good fit, Chicago has some pretty gnarly weather so Johnny won't look out of place when he reverts back to his Pacific Northwest lumberjack look............

If Chicago offers the most money for him, sure, he'll go. Hopefully though, Chicago doesn't think the "power" of Damon is here to stay.

He'll still be a s(umbag!!! ;)

If it comes down to a question between whether the Yankees will let Damon or Matsui go, I believe they would keep Damon.

That spermburper is still on the Rondo thread ... *LOL* ... claiming because clem and I weren't posting this morning meant he had us banned.

Who would that be?

November 1, 2009  08:21 AM ET

As long as the left field fence is only 150' from home plate, Damon should be able to throw the ball to the plate on no more than 10 hops and a good long slow roll .. and Damon might be able to throw out David Ortiz if he tries to tag up after a short fly to Damon and tries to score all the way FROM FIRST BASE. Heck, Damon might get Ortiz out if David were to trip over Damon's rolling ball through the infield as David goes from second to third

He will still be over-rated and over-priced.
