Antonio Daniels is continuing to weigh his options after clearing waivers on Tuesday. A source close to the situation tells HOOPSWORLD that Daniels is receiving significant interest from a number of new teams. The Cleveland Cavaliers have been in contact with Daniels since his release from the Minnesota Timberwolves and were at one point described as the most likely destination for the veteran point guard. However, the source says that there is no longer a front-runner and the new suitors are the reason things have slowed down.

Bruce Bowen. Despite the fact that Moon and Parker are both swingmen, you go after Bowen.

Sad but true. Ferry should be fired for even considering it.

Hey anything for Cavs right now might be a better move then what they have right now out on the court.

Not quite. There are a lot of teams looking for a quality point guard. Daniels is available for a reason.

Are teams truly interested in him because I wouldnt be as a GM.

Desperation is a terrible thing!!!!! Desperation is what got this team Shaq, and desperation will cause Danny Ferry to make some more bad decisions...This team wasn't that far off last year, but if Danny Ferry keeps it up, they'll be closer to the lottery than that to the Larry O'Brien trophy...

is THAT team in America?

November 2, 2009  01:48 PM ET

Worthless pickups just like those Juwan Howard, Magloire, Smith, Lindsey Hunter, etc. They are just there to get paid and ride the pine. I just don't understand these pickups.

Truth of the matter is Dan Gilbert doesn't have what it takes to assemble a championship team that will win for a long time. Look how quickly Boston, Orlando, Lakers, San Antonio, Utah and Denver stackup up talent in no time.

Since Gilbert bought the team all they have been doing is cycling old players hoping against hope that Lebron's magic turns into a championship.

If you have a player like Lebron's caliber you need to build him a team that can win multiple championships - that's when an owner with deep pockets come in. Looking into the future there's no way in hell Lebron wins a championship in at least the next three years if he stays in Cleveland. Lakers, Orlando, Boston, San Antonio, Denver and Blazers are way ahead of the Cavs in the race for the ring.

I will hate for Lebron to end up in the class of the Barkley's and Ewings. He's too good for them.

The thought of signing Antonio Daniels goes to show how pathetic the franchise is. It's like asking a homeless person money to help pay your rent.

I always say the same thing-
why not pick up a YOUNG athletic guy & give them a chance?
I mean maybe they turn into a player....not meaning a HOF guy
but maybe that kid becomes your 7th guy off the bench

He's a solid BACKUP guard. His game is simple. He can keep the offense moving and his strength is going to the hole and getting fouled. He's getting up there in years but he could pay dividends on a team needing guard skill

For assistant coaching position right? Either would be fine :-)
