Jordan Farmar now has extra motivation, should he need it. So does Adam Morrison. The Lakers did not give contract extensions to either fourth-year player, making them both restricted free agents in July. The Lakers had until today to reach an agreement with each player. Farmar, 23, will make $1.9 million this season and Morrison, 26, will make $5.2 million.

Eh... I think the Lakers feel confident they can upgrade at those positions...

At PG, Shannon Brown looks promising. Hope he continues to develop.

The Lakers need to stop giving Sasha minutes and let Morrison eat them up, they have a better chance letting Morrison get more comfortable with the offense then letting over pay Sasha get time on the floor.

Especially with that big dunk he had against the Mavs. Sick!

not sure what the fascination with Brown is-
I mean Phil is giving him 12 minutes a night....
if he was that good or promising- wouldn't he play more?

For some reason, this story reminded me of when Brendan Haywood ripped out a few of Etan Thomas's dreadlocks. Perhaps it's the mustache.

Well in Morrison's case, it is addition by subtraction....I thought this guy was supposed to make his opponents cry when he hit the NBA...The only crying I see is the fans when he enters the game...

Brown came out of nowhere, is a complete surprise, and is now chipping away at Farmar's minutes.

The guy has dymanic flashes of brilliance and he's said to be the most exciting player next to Kobe when it comes to bringing the crowds to their feet.

He's strong, brave, fast & skillful and everyone likes him,.. well besides Farmar.

Talk is that they see him as Fishers potential replacement.

You can let them both test the market. Actually, you can let Morrison go. I have never been a big Farmar fan but if you can get him back cheaply, then do so.

The guy who they could let go is Vujacic. He just gets me pissed off sometimes the way he plays.

Agreed;

Sasha's game isn't garbage, but his mouth gets him in Phil's doghouse...He's toast...I'd like to see Farmar return as well, but he has a mouth problem too...If he keeps his mouth shut, he could get the PT to really develop...as it is, I'm not sure if Phil will bring him back.

Morrison is a BUM!! Ppl here in Charlotte (like myself) were LIVID when MJ took Morrison over B. Roy in the draft at #3!

He cant get his shot off against anything other than an inanimate object and couldnt guard my mother in her slippers! Hes a joke to the NBA and everything it stands for! Its a shame that he now has a championship ring...I bet Phill Jackson doesnt even know hes on the bench..GABBAGE!! (yes GABBAGE, not garbage)

Tell us how you really feel about Morrison...By the way, is GABBAGE a cross between Cabbage and Garbage?

Um....Adam Morrison couldnt defend anyone in the wheel chair league. Atleast Sasha pisses the other teams players off.

lol....come on now-

coming out of nowhere ?
- I mean he came out of Mich St & was a first round pick
he's played 4 years and this year has his CAREER high in minutes
there is a REASON for that.

no offense but your whole post is ridiculous...
bringing the crowds to their feet. He's strong, brave, fast
I mean what's that ??

If this guy was on ANY OTHER TEAM- no one would even know who he was

Sasha just plays too out of control for my liking. He's just not consistent enough to really fill the role that the Lakers ask him to perform.

Agreed that his mouth gets him in trouble. He's one of the many players that I wish would just shut up and play the damn game.

I feel ya and agree, I cant stand when he commits a fouls and acts like he cant believe they called it against him while its obvious that he made it, on top of that he cant make a basketball if his life depended on it.

I am just saying I would rather have Morrison play out on the court who is a better spot up shooter then Sasha, Sasha is way too inconsistent with his J

Adam Morrison must have some sort of game but he obviously isn't doing enough in practice, or around the team to inspire any sort of confidence to put him out there.

I hate to say "he's done", or "he's garbage", because that really isn't my style but to this point he hasn't shown anything worthy of an NBA player. If he has the fire to compete, he better come out and show it because this year may really be his last chance in the League.
