Holmgren rips Redskins, defends Zorn

Perhaps Mike Holmgren might not want to coach the Redskins after all. He sure didn't sound like a guy trying to impress owner Daniel Snyder when he blasted Washington management for its treatment of Coach Jim Zorn, one of Holmgren's former assistants, during an interview with a Chicago radio station. Asked what he thought about the Redskins' decision to strip Zorn, Holmgren's quarterbacks coach with the Seattle Seahawks, of play-calling duties, the longtime head coach "thought it was very unfair to put him in the position."

It's interesting to see how Zorn has all of his buddies on the West Coast speak up for him, when he can't say a word for himself, other than, "shux... Awww.."

It's more than obvious that he's grabbing his ankles soon as he gets into the office with Snyder...

I wonder is he telling his boys about those intricate details.

Someone who disagrees with Redskins management? I'm shocked and appalled.

Holmgren isn't interested in the Washington job. He wants more personnel power than Danny Boy will allow.

Mike, you'll hurt Danny feelings. Stop it or he'll get mad!

And if you can't gain a damn yard after running a sweep on the goal line four consecutive plays for two weeks straight, you should lose your play calling duties.

gesundheit!

I'll be glad when we get that ass-clown off the sidelines....

I'm done venting now.

Yo Chico, The errant snap on 4th down on MNF summed up the state of the Redskins this season for me. Hopefully next season we can usher in the Gruden era.

Maybe next year Danny boy Snyder can sell the concept to a network and they combine football and TV. Really, "So you think you can be a Head Coach". I mean come on the networks will love it it'll make millions and that is what Snyder wants, so what the hell.

Listen I don't want to rain on your parade but as long as Snyder keeps thinking that he knows how to run a football team it ain't gonna matter who you get as head coach it ain't gonna work

What's up Ray... I was out there man... That was the most miserable game I've ever witnessed... Most people didn't realize it, but he Eagles really took it light on us.

I just hope Snyder is keeping track on things of, "WHAT NOT TO DO!"....

I have for him.... #385 Don't hire a "do boy; ass- clown GM or coach" to run a billion dollar franchise.

They banned me... Some kind of made up lie about me cussing....

Somebody has to stand up to Snyder. Enough with the Holmgren to Washington rumors. Washington has its eyes strongly fixated on Shanahan. Holmgren will end up in Dallas and Cowher will go to Carolina. Gruden to Cleveland?

November 3, 2009  07:40 AM ET

Who has the better idea of what type of coach Zorn is, Snyder or his former mentor?

Surely not. A well spoken gentleman such as yourself Chico?

In Isiah's last year with the Knicks Magic Johnson, in NYC for some reason, was interviewed. He gave high praises to Isiah and the wonderful job he was doing. You cannot take some of these things seriously.

Don't give him any ideas!
