Heat settles lawsuit with Seikaly

The Heat filed a lawsuit a few weeks ago against Rony Seikaly, its first No. 1 draft pick (1988), but reached a settlement that Seikaly seems happy with. The problem was that Seikaly did not pay for his seldom-used AmericanAirlines Arena floor seats last season or this season (the last year of his lease) because he's spending most of his time overseas as a traveling disc jockey. ``I'm playing every corner of Europe. It's an artistic passion.''

There's a transition I never considered.

Really. If I was with her I wouldn't be sitting at some NBA game.

Good old Rony...I had also heard that he had taken up painting and writing....Got a trophy wife and wants to travel the world spinning Barry Manilow & ABBA records...Go figure...

It's good to pursue passion but he had to realize the Heat have a business to take care of as well. Yes he was careless but compared to Eddy Curry this should be a non-issue. All's well that ends well.

... and if Elsa is traveling the globe with him, all's well.

There are worse ways he could be spending his retirement.

That money from the lawsuit can go into the warchest to try to keep DWade I suppose, but this does look pretty bad from an optics point of view.

That's not a bad life, actually. He already has his millions from being an NBA scrub.

Of course, it's sad that he's another "journeyman" who passed through Golden State, and whom the Warriors failed to keep for more than a couple seasons (if that).

Maybe they know that most sports fans are busy watching the baseball World Series, so there's no use putting out serious articles at this point, when the season is barely getting started.
