With Simon Gagne sidelined for six to eight weeks, would the Flyers be interested in bringing past-his-prime forward Peter Forsberg back to Philly? Well, general manager Paul Holmgren is keeping his options open, but he downplayed a report that the Flyers have dispatched scout Ilkka Sinisalo to the Karjala Cup specifically to check out the 36-year-old Forsberg. The tourney starts Thursday in Finland.

Stay in Sweden Peter. Your body can't take the pounding anymore. And if you get a message from someone called Brett Favre, don't return the call.

Lord...

This is the guy who invented the of joining a team half way through the season. Look out for Sundin reports to start up around the Olympic break.

His ability to win faceoffs alone will always make him a commodity.

Unfortunately, after the faceoff, the team is immediately in a 5-on-4 disadvantage while he hobbles off the ice.

I loved him as a member of the Avs, but he is well past his best before date. Are the Philly papers just making up stories this morning to fill space that Phillies' news isn't taking up?

I almost spat out my coffee on my work computer! I'll thank you in advance for the jinxing if we starting seeing Sundin threads again.

Oh Jesus Christ not this again....anything but this...

November 4, 2009  09:01 AM ET

Well since the Ray Emery experiment is working out pretty good, I would think I Pen fan wouldn't want it to work out that good.

November 4, 2009  10:25 AM ET

Good to hear Fupa rumors again.

November 4, 2009  10:27 AM ET

What? No more Sean Avery for our reading pleasure?

Give it time Argos...give it time. The Ray Emery experiment has worked out well every other place it has been tried at first too.

Shiprock...you did not just type that

Hopefully, they're just "flop-ah" rumors.

Then hand in the left portion of the displayed photo has just stuck a fork in Forsberg's back.

It's official, he's done.

Ja

November 4, 2009  10:58 AM ET

There are no good threads today in which I can ask the Comedian to discuss the Red Wings' goaltending issues again. Atta boy Ozzie!

What the hell are you talking about, which team did he join half way through the season? All I remember is him re-joining the Avs a couple of years back at the end of the season for a pretty sweet discount. It's not like he's actually sitting around healthy looking for the best deal, he IS actually trying to mount a comeback. It's quite possible that the number of this comeback attempt is the same number he wears on his jersey, but that's not the point...

His goal is to play in the Olympics, so we'll probably see him back by Christmas.
