Why LeBron may join Kobe in LA

Well, at least I'm fairly sure now where LeBron James is going to be playing next season. Los Angeles, most likely with the Lakers. I've heard this scenario from some NBA people. I don't think James would have any problem submerging his ego for Bryant's for a while knowing full well his talent already is surpassing Bryant's. James has often talked about expanding his empire, and lately has been involved with books and movies. So where else but in L.A. would you want to be to be involved in the entertainment industry?

they both want to be the star of the team

No way I'm drinking this Kool-Aid...

This sounds ridiclous but its doable. The Lakers have enough assets for a sign and trade but if y're the Lakers why would you break up the core of Gasol, Odom, Bynum, Artest as at least two of those players will have to be sent to Cleveland in order for the deal to work?

The Lakers are already well over the luxury tax for the next season, there is no way unless Buss does not mind to pay

November 4, 2009  07:39 AM ET

Wishful thinking. Who will the Lakers trade (Odom, Bynum, Gasol, Fisher, Artest), because there is not enough money to go around, and in order for that to happen, Kobe will have to be in agreement because its his show that would be affected. This whole thought or idea is a dream or a team you can assemble for fantasy, there's no way this is possible.

November 4, 2009  07:40 AM ET

That Ain't Happening....Period...

November 4, 2009  07:41 AM ET

Jerry West is not in LA anymore = No Lebron and Kobe.

November 4, 2009  07:47 AM ET

No!

November 4, 2009  07:48 AM ET

Wishful Fantasy (Not a bad one though...)! Where's the Lakers gonna get the cap space to you for this??? Either that or they would have to trade their entire team to get him...Lessee Kobe, Lebron, DJMbenga, Morrison and the towel boy as your starting five probably ain't gonna get the job done...

November 4, 2009  07:49 AM ET

Yeah, and Brett Favre will submerge his ego to go back to Green Bay as well.

November 4, 2009  08:01 AM ET

Not happening, not yet anyway. Possibly down the line(once Kobe retires probably). But still a little far fetched to me.

November 4, 2009  08:04 AM ET

I have heard this rumor numerous times but I dont think it will happen but why does it keep floating around is the mystery.

November 4, 2009  08:05 AM ET

He will go to the Clippers before he goes to the Lakers

November 4, 2009  08:11 AM ET

Despite the fact that this will never happen, it should rile up the Lebron nut huggers

November 4, 2009  08:12 AM ET

Can't see it happening.

Nothing wrong with the Clippers if he's there.

People have nothing better else to do than concoct rumors....Lessee, I think I'll make one up while we are at it...

"Reports have placed Jordon Farmar and Adam Morrison as new best buddies...The pair now seems inseperable as the paparrazzi have captured them everywhere from the go-kart track to the dollar movies...Seems the unlikely pair has found a common bond in their ample stints on the bench, time in Phil's doghouse, and their shared lack of unfufilled potential...."

It's the Clippers..they will find some way to self-destruct...It's coded in the organizational gene pool....

November 4, 2009  08:23 AM ET

Yeah, sure! Morrison, "the machine" Vujacic, Djemba (or whatever his name is) and Farmar for LeBron AND Cleveland's 1. Rd Picks of the next 3 years!

No chance he goes to the Lakers.
