The big do-over will soon be initiated by Oregon coach Chip Kelly, who will recommend reinstatement for once-banished LeGarrette Blount to his athletic director who will pass the recommendation to the university president who will leave the decision to the conference commissioner.

Reinatate him and let him ride the pine.

He should be reinstated... He was wrong for what he did, but he's a kid.

Give the guy another chance, I'm sure he's learned from his mistake.

November 4, 2009  08:18 AM ET

I would let him play and make him tow the line.

Let him know that he has zero chances to screw up.....

One strike and he should be kicked off for good!!

does anyone else envision Bellotti on the ground throwing a hissy fit saying I want him back I want him back.

It's probably more about his NFL draft status which went from real high to maybe not at all.

There's always the UCF.

Be careful what you wish for, Oregon.

One game with him, a loss.

Rest of the season without him, undefeated.

Of course they will, now that Oregon is the PAC-10's shot at the National Championship game... you think they (Pac-10) waited until after the USC game was coincidence?

That doesn't make any sense. They put up over 600 yards of offense on USC without him, why would they want him back now? I could see that angle if their offense struggled, but it didn't.

Your team is doing so well without him, why would you bring a distraction into the mix?

Dude. He's a guru. Dont mess with his wisdom and don't mess with the zohan.

Send him to the UNIVERSITY of Florida, they need another puncher

Is there a Duck in the house that can tell me exactly how many chances this kid has been given already?

This isn't an alter boy that just got mad one night; The dude's got a history of this stuff. He's ruined many chances already.

At some point in time we have to stop being apologists.

Let Dez Back! - Are there bumperstickers that say that in Stillwater? There should be.

The kid served a suspension and should be allowed to earn a spot back on the field. The punch to the Boise State player was out of line, but fans should never have been at field level to taunt Blount afterwards. What I saw was a bunch of liquored up fans hiding behind stadium security attempting to bait a kid into making a huge mistake. College athletics have always been about two things: 1. Teaching these young men to be world class athletes and 2. Teaching these young men to be men of character.
I believe the Pac-10 and Oregon should give Blount one chance, with a ZERO TOLERANCE clause, to prove that he has become both in his time away from the game.

I feel extremely bad for him. It's not like he did anything maliciously; he just freaked out about the possibility of getting in trouble and made a bad decision that only worked for the short-term. Suspend him for a game, just to say "I know you weren't trying to do something wrong, but it was still wrong." No way did that deserve the punishment.

November 4, 2009  09:29 AM ET

And yes, Dez White should also be playing after a very short suspension.

Blount? Security escort to the gates, bus ticket home, and $50 meal money for the trip.
