Bears players support Lovie

Local sports talk radio is filled with angry Bears fans, calling for the firing of coach Lovie Smith. Bears players remain in his corner. "I was here when coach Smith wasn't here," veteran defensive end Alex Brown said. "So, I remember how it was. Not to say anything bad about coach (Dick) Jauron, but it's a lot different now. Coach (Smith) has a way of doing things, and that's doing it right all of the time. And if you don't adapt to that, then you won't be here. He has taken us to the promised land (Super Bowl XLI) once. And I believe he will do it again here real soon."

The Bears are who we thought they were!

If Lovie wants to make Bears fans happy, he should get rid of Ron Turner.

Not soon enough, Alex.

man denny needs another nfl gig.

So, Lovie should stay because he's doing a better job than Dick Jauron? Not much of a reason. He's steering the Bills over Niagra Falls.

what else do you expect them to say.....if they want to keep their playing time

All you need is Lovie,
All you need is Lovie,
All you need is Lovie, Lovie,
Lovie is all you need ...

I always thought Lovie was underated as Thurston Howell's wife on Gilligan's Island

How can you get mad at a guy called Lovie??

I agree with you there. There are times I thought Lovie lacked a killer instinct, but maybe it's Ron Turner that lacks it. Not a Belichick fan, but you have to admire his go-for-the-throat mentality to winning football games. Don't like us "running up the score"? Then let your defense stop us!

They just need to be a little patient...these teams are way to fast in getting rid of coaches..it takes a while for things to gel.

Huh?

November 4, 2009  10:32 AM ET

Bottom Line---Chicago fans are loyal once you/ve gained their respect...

When the respect is gone & your team, which was to kick Arse, starts of fade & lose, you may as well pack your bags.

Once you've lost Bear fans, theres no getting them back...Sorry Lovie--It's Adios...

Absolutely! I couldn't agree more! Dumb Turner must go!

November 4, 2009  10:55 AM ET

Oh! And get rid of the dumbest GM in the league while you're at it! Jerry Angelo doesn't have a clue! Gives the future away for a QB but doesn't give him any protection or anybody who can catch the ball!

I know it was Cleveland but it's still a win

This is stupid. Lovie can't block, throw, or any thing that players should do. Also, he is not responible for injuries. According to bears fans, he is. Urlacher being out hurt this team more than expected. Sorry bears fans, The Mccassky's aren't going to give lovie 11 mil to give him the boot. However, I say give him one more year to get this team on the right path. After next year; if the bears haven't been improved and doing good, then they should fire him. Give him some time, we were in the superbowl three years ago....with Lovie as the coach.
