The Detroit Tigers this summer made an investment in pitcher Jarrod Washburn that didn't pay off. Now the lefty could be returning to the team that sent him to Detroit, the Seattle Mariners. Washburn, a free agent, told the Mariners' Web site that Seattle is among the teams at the top of his list. He didn't name any other teams.

Any chance the NYY are a bit higher on the list?

Washburn was simply a rental to make the playoffs. At the time it looked like a great move. The M's always knew they would get him right back, but you really gotta wonder how much they knew about how hurt Washburn was... this deal stunk of a team forgetting to completely disclose their injury report...

Irony: Washburn was the Tigs play to go deep in the playoffs... he was ONE of the reasons they didnt make it in at all... they would have had better chances to win the games he started with French. We all know what one more win would have done...

Makes sense for Washburn......he seemed completely comfortable pitching in Seattle.

Reuniting them will be good for Wash AND the M's. Washburn is a good fit for Seattle. He turned into a solid guy for their rotation - finally. They really struggled to fill that slot when he left. He credits Rick Adair, Wakamatsu's new pitching coach, for his recent success. Something he left behind when he went to Detroit. Washburn said when he left, he would probably be back after his contract was up.

Good bye and good riddance! The Tigers have enough injured and head case pitchers as it is.

How about way too many cards on the market.Don't forget the Wagner card was worth so much cause he had it pulled and not many went into circulation let alone how many are still around
