LeBron hasn't ruled out Knicks
On the eve of his Garden visit, free-agent-to-be LeBron James spoke tonight before facing the Bulls and said enough hopeful things to keep Knick fans fantasizing about July 1. Certainly, James wants the Knicks as an option, whether as a bargaining chip or to keep his name alive. "I don't tease, I've never teased the New York media my saying I was coming to New York or playing for the Knicks,'' James said. "I saw the same thing every time. When July 1 gets here, I'm going to approach it like a business man and approach it for the best fit for LeBron and his family. "

Yup, that's the way to do it if you wanna raise your Market price. Keep all your would be suitors in the running for your services.

No but he does tease NY in other ways and he knows it. Thank god this is the Cavs only trip to NY this year.

After another loss at home I wouldn't completely rule it out either.
Cavs looked pretty bad last night against an up-and-coming but not-there-yet Bulls squad.

This guy clearly is a liar, as he does "tease" and is very two faced. He is just thinking of himself, and playing the media to get what he wants; to hype his demand even more.
I know this is a business, but have some class and dignity.
At this rate nobody will beleive a thing this self-centered baby says.
I said it before...he has the skills to be great, but not the leadership (or class) to be the best.
And the fool speaks of himself in the third person...LOL

And as much as I hate to say it - being a bit off topic - Spurs did not look like a championship team.
I've said before no team has gone from losing in the first round to a championship since 1981.
The Celtics were the first to miss the playoffs the year before and still take home all the marbles.
Maybe we all bought into the hype too much because this team has very little interior presence if they can keep the guards out of the paint.
Duncan's age seems to be finally catching up with him and Ginobili will be a solid but not great player.
I know it's early - but I'm wondering if we all drank the kool-aid a little too early.

They are just weak inside especially defensively.

Lakers lost to Rockets in 1981 after winning title in 1980...
... can't remember if Rockets had lost in first round during the 1979-1980 playoffs.

I've stated countless times...
... logically, I don't see James leaving Cleveland.
Again, that's based on my logic of looking at his current team, home state, salary, and notoriety as the most marketed player in the NBA.
Now, people defy logic all the time... and there could be other factors weighing in his decision besides the obvious.
However, I do not expect him to bolt Ohio.

Any team that picks up a Garnett type player and a Ray Allen type, to go along with a Paul Pierce, can go from last place to championship in the next year!

I'm with you Eugene! I really don't expect him to go anywhere. Why would he? Cleveland is better than NY... He's closer to a championship with Cleveland, though I don't think it will happen! He cannot get any bigger marketability wise.
NY'ers think he will be there after this year, but... WE SHALL SEE!!!

Indeed...
... although he may not get a title this year with Cleveland either.
Ironically, I think if Cleveland DID win a title it might motivate him to go someplace else and win another.
The ultimate ego boost is winning titles with different teams... as if "you're the man"...

gotta take exception.......
whiny, bi-atch, sore loser.....yes
But why do athletes get pounded for wanting to be a FA
and go to where THEY think will be the best fit.
- why should LBJ be forced to stay in Cleveland if he wants
to go aomewhere else ? that is why there is free agency, it is
part of his CURRENT cav contract that gives him an out if HE
wants one.....
I don't think he's leaving either- but what he is doing is
100% within his right to do.....

not sure how you get that-
next year - assuming the teams stay the same-
cleveland has mo williams....AND ???
- NY granted has nothing....
but the whole reason many of us bang on Cleveland is cause
Ferry has assembled a garbage roster.......
why now, all of a sudden is he going to assemble a quality one?

I can't see the Knicks having a good enough supporting cast to surround King James. That's what having a salary cap in the NBA wil prohibit.

Here comes the real LeBron James. This whole season is about a contract. There are two necessities for any team hoping to sign Lebron. Mega-bucks and Mega-city. Only New York, Chicago, or Los Angeles are big enough markets for his ego. All the jargon is BS. At the end of it all, he'll be in a world city with the biggest paycheck in the NBA. Period. Nothing else matters.
