Mets to part with Putz

The Mets -- remember them? -- do not plan to exercise their $9.1 million option on J.J. Putz -- remember him? -- and will pay him a $1 million buyout. As a free agent, Putz will be free to sign with any team, but it would be hard to imagine him returning to the Mets. He accepted a new role as setup man when he joined them in a blockbuster deal last December, but would prefer to close again. No chance that happens with the Mets, who already have Francisco Rodriguez.

Wait a minute, what the hell makes the Mets all of the sudden think that they don't need three closers...

Average Mets Pitcher! Meaning their ACE!

I love when they break out Putz's shart picture.

I think he would be a good investment for the Rays if they can get him for $1 or $2 million.

PERFECT!

He put up good numbers as a closer in Seattle. The set up role didn't seem to work very well for him or the Mets.

November 6, 2009  10:50 AM ET

Maybe after all of the injuries this the Mets finally relized they have a steriod problem and need to get clean players. Guess the next is Delgado. Either that or he is not spanish enough for Los Mets

Is it me...or does T&R seems to get the ugliest picture of the person in the storyline or am I imagining this?
