08:44 AM ET 11.06 | NASCAR spokesman Ramsey Poston, in a blog posting on nascar.com, specifically knocked ESPN/ABC's coverage of Sunday's Sprint Cup race in Talladega, Ala. At issue: Whether the race was boring. Usually, TV sports analysts go to great pains to avoid even hinting what they're showing is boring. But Poston suggested ESPN/ABC analysts, including Dale Jarrett, "certainly weren't happy with the race and felt compelled to remind viewers of that virtually every lap. ... And along the way, ABC missed a lot of very good racing."

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!! The spin coming out of NASCAR is beginning to look worse than what we have seen from any White House. How in God's name can you blame the network for that crappy racing? Dale Jarrett was calling it what it was. Honest to God, every day NASCAR loses more and more credibility

It's a good thing Kyle Petty wasn't calling that race. He really calls them as he sees them.
Nascar needs some new spin doctors, or better yet, some some new management.

unbelievable

this is like Madoff blaming the economy for his ponzi scheme.

November 6, 2009  08:57 AM ET

NASCAR has risen to the height of their OWN incompetence! Who do you suppose caused that endless single file parade around the track most of the day? Those IDIOTS at NASCAR central obvious don't listen to drivers or commentator opinions. And JK heaven forbid we would have been forced to listen to Kyle all day. That would have just added to the foolishness. But look at the upside.....we didn't have to listen Darrell talk about Digger!

November 6, 2009  08:58 AM ET

I gotta jump right back in

So it was ABC's Fault there was single file racing, what, half the race?

It was ABC's Fault that the drivers were openly apologetic?

It was ABC's Fault that even the announcers, who typically suck up and try to put a positive spin on anything, could not even come up with a way to put lipstick on the pig that was Dega this year?

Bite me, nascar.

November 6, 2009  08:59 AM ET

I'm sure that ABC and the commentators are also responsible for all the rule changes, car restrictions, and competition "enhancements". Could NASCAR management have any more blatent cowardess to face facts?

November 6, 2009  09:00 AM ET

the only thing that coulda made the first 150 laps worse..... F'n Digger......

November 6, 2009  09:01 AM ET

I;m still fuming. I guess Danica will fix this issue though, will give the announcers something else to talk about Ad nauseum, other than the boring racing.

November 6, 2009  09:02 AM ET

I don't even think Digger would have been scared enough to jump back in his hole. NASCAR's arrogance in this situation is staggering
