Yankees ace recruiting LeBron to Knicks

I am NOT saying LBJ is coming....
but you gotta admit that his ONLY trip into NYC this year
came at a PRERFECT time - the day of the parade.....

Yeah- stern clearly planned that-
he KNEW that NY would win in 6 and that NY would plan
the parade ON Friday, so he scheduled the Cav/NY game
perfectly as a recruiting tool, cause he wants LBJ in NY........

Maybe Lebron can tell CC that there's a cap in Basketball and a huge difference betweeen the Yankees and Knicks.

Lebrons not stupid, He is absolutely using this as leverage for a larger payday with the Cavs. However, If Lebron does sign with the Cavs I don't see it being a long contract. I think he will resign with the Cavs for 5 years max and if he doesn't get his ring (s) by then he is off to the big apple or LA while in his prime.

Am I the only person absolutely disgusted by Lebron's antics last night in the Garden. And this new age of Knicks fans, cheering him on while he's making a laughing stock out of your team is equally disturbing.

I understand that I will never see the late eighties/early nineties Knicks again. But, even though they never won anything, they still played their hearts out and earned the respect of the NY fan.

Lebron turning the Garden into his circus would have never happened back then... I don't want that clown in a Knicks uniform. He too busy trying to be a celebrity than win championships anyway.

Action Brown, I totally agree with you. I was at a lot of those games back in the mid / late-90's and those were hardcore fans. It was always special when Shaq or MJ came into the Garden but fans cheered for the Knicks to BEAT THEM, not to kiss their butts. It's nauseating, but perhaps that's because between the Knicks and Nets sucking big time the NBA is just so irrelevant here. Fans need to cheer something and that's simply not in the play of the team. I'd like to see what happens if the Knicks do not get Lebron or another stud next year. What becomes of the Knicks? Basically, most people showing up now are there either because they are diehards or because they want to be a part of the whole "wooing" atmosphere. It's a joke.

NOT! New York Brick fans have proven that they will support their team no matter how bad they are. I was once there when 19,000 showed up to see the 21-60 Bricks and the 14-66 Heat. This wouldn't happen anywhere else in the league. David Stern is well aware that if LeBron leaves Cleveland, the franchise could fold. I doubt very seriously if Stern would have any interest in James leaving.

but I do believe Stern wants NY to be better-

As you say NY'ers will show up, regardless.....
but when NY is in the mix, ratings go up- which is sterns priority
so granted- I think the NBA doesn't 'need' LBJ in NY......
but they do want a better NY sqaud

I understand your logic as to why Stern would not want to have LeBron leave (he even said it publicly, no?), but he doesn't get to decide LBJ's future.
Do you think LeBron is more concerned about his future success, or whether Cavs will suurvive without him?
My guesss is he cares about himself first (rightfully so).
For what its worth, I hope Cavs don't crumble if he leaves.

LOL! If he's concerned about his future, the Bricks have no shot. The Cavs are probably a player or 2 from a championship. When the Bricks return to respectability LeBron will have retired. Why would he leave one building project for another that's still in the developmental stages?

Hasn't that been a bit obvious for the majority of the last 2 years? Screw New Yuck City!

Very true, but I'm starting to think they are more likely to get Bosh. LBJ is so image concious I can't see him wanting to be villified by everyone outside the 5 Bouroughs.

Everyone keeps making the mistake of looking at a potential James signing in a bubble.
The Knicks aren't dumb, they realize they need to make other signings, both to attract him and win, thats why they have accepted sucking for two years to escape 10 years of contract hell. Also, the Cavs are about to run into serious cap issues if they resign him, so there is no gurantee they will continue to put a quality team around him either.

Don't missunderstand, I didn't even use the word Knick.
Just saying, he may not be patient enough to wait for Clevland to get those other "2", to bring them over the top.

Right, sure NYers will head to the Garden, the problem is, no one is watching them on TV, thats where the $$ is, especially for the league.
