Why teams won't trade for Jackson

What, nobody wants to trade for Stephen Jackson? No surprise that the disgruntled Warrior has not been moved. It's not just that he is a pain to deal with, but few GMs want to take on his money, at his age and with his reputation. Besides getting $7.6 million this season, he has three years left and $27.6 million on his deal. "He's 31," said one GM. "Do you really want Stephen Jackson when he's 34?"

lol....all true
That being said-
come december, when playoff-caliber teams have injuries
and might be getting DESPERATE for a guy that can score,
play D at the SF/SG spot....someone will come calling

I can't imagine any GM wanting to roll the dice, especially with the way NBA revenue is hurting.

I hear you- but it's not like he's a 'scrub'
he's just nuts....
the guy has scored 20+ in the last 2 seasons

Yes his contract is too long- but crazy dudes don't seem to have
trouble finding jobs in the NBA...if they're PRODUCTIVE

I said a team would have to be desperate....

The Grizz will trade AI for him. Ha ha!

November 8, 2009  10:12 AM ET

He's past 30 and has a bad contract, I am surprised teams aren't lining up.

He is too good a talent to overlook.
If he can get you to the next level, why not?

Spursdynasty,
don't you San Antonio can use him?...I'm sure Pops can keep him in check.

Not desperate, just need a coaching staff that can keep him in check.
If that can be done, what a player they would have.

Wasn't there a rumor that the Cavs were interested in him? Since they are desperate to do everything possible to show Le Bron that they will put a championship team around him that might be a team that would roll the dice. If it happens I would love to be a fly on the wall when he meets Delonte 'have gun will travel' West.

Gives a new meaning to the phrase "nice shot"

Jackson is a decent enough scorer, but nothing else about him is enticing to other teams....

but that's not true-
he's got excellent size for a 2 and decent size at the 3
He does defent and is tough.....

Again- he's a lunatic, no doubt- but he'd be fine in a winning
situation- as he has shown in the past

If he were in the last year or two of his contact......maybe.

But as for now with the years he has left.......nobody's gonna want that!

Jax's numbers are a bit scewed? as he does play for G state and plays heavy minutes.

Another thing is that when he is 34 he will be an expiring contract - his age won't matter.

I am pretty sure if the Cavs can't get rolling soon you will see them go after Jax. I would assume that Z is a player they would trade for him which would be good for the Warriors since his contract is over this summer.
I think you are right about the winning situation, If he comes into Cleveland he would be instantly thrown into the playoff mix. He would be a good addition but only if he can keep his head straight.

For all the negative stuff about LeBron declining image, I think any trade the Cavs make has to go thru him and I think there are reasons why they would have trouble trading Z because of the place he has in the heart of the Cavs. Maybe that is placing too much stock in loyalty etc.
