Giants coordinator gets defensive

Bill Sheridan often speaks in a soft voice, makes extended eye contact and, except when he's on the field for practice or a game, moves methodically. He and his soothing demeanor have been a calm, steady presence for the Giants' defensive players since he was named coordinator in January. Until this past week, when the urgency of fixing a defense that has allowed a total of 112 points during the current three-game losing streak became apparent in Sheridan. "You can tell in his voice as far as some of the words he used," defensive end Justin Tuck said. "Now, I won't give you those words." Bad words? "I don't call them bad words," Tuck said. "I call them football words."

injures are a major problem, Ross and Phillips (IR) are killers...Pierce is on the down side

I guess Bernard Pollard can scratch the Giants from his list of possible landing sites. They use "football words" there and he doesn't like that.

LOL. Good morning, Otis.

Football words, eh? I used a lot of those last night during the Navy vs. Irish game. I propose we put Charlie Weiss on a 1,000 calorie per diem diet until he is able to have a ten win season.

Having Ross and Phillips back do not cure the Giants ills!

Funny, very funny. I think Otis should write, his comments are better then the articles in print!

The guy looks like he eats a half Buffalo for dinner every night. His grocery bill must make his accountant sweat bullets

Hey Stu - I saw your following comment - Don't think I can add anything to that. That should just about do it for the "Charlie" era...

Bill Sheridan is no Steve Spagnuolo. Everyone wants to point to the injuries; blame the pass rush. Because under Sheridan, it has been nothing special. When Spagnuolo was the D-Coordinator, it was all about the guys up front. It didn't matter who was in the secondary because the QB didn't have time in the pocket. NYG went out this off-season and stock-piled what was already the most talented D-line in the NFL... why can't Sheridan get a pass rush out of them?

Not quite the same thing, obviously.

Giants D didn't play that bad today, except for that last minute drive.

Damn that's funny!!

When you start off hot at 5-0 and then drop the ball on four in a row, yeah, you are gonna catch some heat!

Their defensive secondary really needs to step it up. I can't believe that they just let the other team just march down the field like that on Sunday.
