Despite scoring a convincing knockout, Gus Johnson asked Fedor Emelianenko if he would be willing to give Brett Rogers a rematch, to which Fedor obliged. "If Brett would like a rematch, why not?" Always humble in victory, Fedor thanked the Chicago crowd for supporting him, as well as his fans in Russia.

Good knockout!

November 8, 2009  11:37 AM ET

Outcome would most likely be the same, Fedor coming up with a W. He either KOs him again or subs him next time. From an entertainment standpoint, why not. Rogers showed some grit though but in the end Fedor came out on top with his composure and experience. Im still amazed how after taking some 4 or 5 huge shots on the ground, he was able to concentrate enough to slap on an armbar on big Brett. Emelianenko's hand speed is amazing for a heavyweight.

I do agree with the experts that their should be a 235 lb division. Great champion for MMA.

Fedor was definitely in a fight last night. Broken nose and all, he showed why he is among the best MMA fighters today. Brett was game and gave him fits but experience showed the way. Fedor's barrage to open the 2nd was a sign of things to come. Agreed, his hand speed for a HW was astonishing. Awesome card in all. Crowd seemed to really into it.

Just move on to the UFC already. Rogers has no ground game maybe when he gets more experience sure but it'll be the same result.

That cut was overblown, Fedor didn't look concerned or worried at anytime, complete control over Rogers.

would love to see a rematch. Rogers was more than game, he really was in it to win it. IMO Rogers is scared he might have to go back to Sams Club and that drives him lol

My point exactly. Fedor was never fazed with blood trickling down his nose. His experience allowed him to be calm in there. He didnt come out unscathed though. Sherdog reports he broke his nose and injured his left hand.

Rodgers will only get better with a good trainer just stay away from Couture.

and will take him..

This rematch talk is a bit silly. What was Fedor supposed to say when asked about a rematch? I don't understand why there is need for one, after a convincing victory. It wasn't that close. I'd rather see Fedor fight a couple of the other heavies at Strikeforce.

Strikeforce is better off hiring Bas Rutten as their commentator. Gus Johnson asked a rather pointless question. If it went to a decision or an early stoppage, perhaps that would be an appropriate question to ask. BUT IT WAS A DEFINITIVE KNOCKOUT. Sure, Rogers was game but he still clearly was outclassed. The fact that Fedor was bloodied was about the only reason some think it was close. He was never in danger. Even with Brett pouncing on him, he had the focus to attempt an armbar. An armbar while being pummeled. Now thats impressive.

I thought the Russian was in control the whole time also. In a rematch, I think the outcome would be the same.....but with a quicker ending.

Fedor's boxing is impressive. His lateral and head movement kept him from being hit much after the initial straight that broke his nose. Props to a game Rogers but he couldve used a bit more class during the interview. Fedor as usual was humble in victory. Great night of fights. Cant believe it was unanimous though for Werdum. I had Silva winning the first. Shouldve been a split at least.

Fedor, the beast, it was an awesome fight. It is exactly what I like to see in a heavyweight fight. Rodgers was definitely game, but I think that he gassed or was amazed that Fedor kept coming after him. What a wicked right hand, ....Rodgers keep your hands up next time....if you get another chance. Over all it was a pretty good card, I did expect more out of Jake Shields. But all the other fights were exciting.

Jake needs to drop back down, Chung Le's probably taking his belt back. Why move up when he could manhandle people at 170, being the smaller fighter and having a bad standup game?

If Strikeforce delivers this kind of product the UFC is in big trouble going forward.

November 8, 2009  06:20 PM ET

Ok, Fedor did not offer Rogers a rematch. They asked him if he would do a rematch and he said yes. Fedor never brought it up. What is he supposed to say when they ask him that. "Why should I fight him again? I just kicked his ass."

Couture is one of the best coaches in MMA. There's a reason his gym is so popular. Nobody comes in better prepared mentally than Randy.

The UFC is in no trouble. SF put on a great night of fights, but how often can they do it? They pretty much put all their top talent on this card. They don't have the depth to do more than 3-4 shows a year. The UFC still has a far better talent pool.
