Paul tired of Hornets lineup?

The recent flareup between the Celtics' Rajon Rondo and New Orleans's Chris Paul may be indicative of Paul's frustration as much as Rondo's edginess on the eve of his contract extension. When speaking to reporters afterward, Paul gave the impression that he is tired of working overtime with an unspectacular supporting cast. The Hornets have attempted to build a championship-caliber team but have fallen short, especially in the draft. Paul twice referred to Rondo as a "lucky guy" for playing with three future Hall of Famers and possibly a fourth (Rasheed Wallace).

You're typically not drafting 'stars' in the mid-late teens
that's what happens when your team is decent, but not great

It's bull that there isn't enough talent- the problem is that
their SG & SF are injury-prone OLD guys
they also are WAY over the cap next year that they can't do
anything - even if they wanted to.....

I would be too, CP3 deserves a better supporting cast then West & Peja.

West is a VERY good player.....

he's made the last 2 AS games,
and in the last 4 years has averaged 18+ & 8....
he is most certainly NOT the problem

It's still early in Chris Paul's NBA career, and he should be patient.

If he's going to complain all the time, maybe he should hook up with LeBron, and both of them should take a pay cut to play with each other. Then, after they're hooked up, maybe they should make a joint promise to the fans not to complain about teammates ever again.

It's going to get worse, they are WAY over the cap for next year, somebody with a big tradeable (Not Peja) has to be moved. West or Okafor are the targets.

No ones taking peja....lol
But again with west- I mean who are you bringing in to replace
his SOLID production ?
And he only makes like 8+mil......

Peja is not going anywhere, but West or Okafor can bring back draft picks which are cheaper, if they aren't winning why beover the cap? Paul is gone as soon as his contract expires anyway, he just looks tired of it all.

Its not a lineup its really two allstars, inconsistent players, guys that are busts and rookies.
Point blank trading Chandler was stupid enough but to let Rasual Butler go also?
You have got to be joking.
He should demand a trade.
I do not see them going that far this season.
Not with that lineup.

November 8, 2009  10:55 AM ET

i could see the lakers pulling a dirty trade for this guy if he demands a trade... kind of like when they got gasol a couple seasons back

November 8, 2009  11:22 AM ET

Paul,West and Okafur and nothing else....in a loaded west is a recipe for a lottery team or a first round sweep...Paul is gone once that contract expires....GONE!!!!

November 8, 2009  11:43 AM ET

When is his contract up (LAKERS)? Or do you thnk he can force a trade? Just asking.

November 8, 2009  11:57 AM ET

Yeah, I don't blame CP3 for feeling that way! To have to waste away in New Orleans with garbage on your squad is a sick feeling, I'm sure! Other than he and West, they don't have jack! Don't give me Okafor, that guy is garbage, for real!

November 8, 2009  12:43 PM ET

Hope CP gets to play with a good team someday, he's quite a player.

but who is giving you draft picks for a BLOATED okafur contract ?
and again...west - if anything - is UNDERPAID-
there is no one in the league that earns LESS and is a productive

CP doesn't want to 'start over' with kids-

November 8, 2009  12:55 PM ET

Stop saying he goes to the Lakers. You guys make my heart flutter every time you say Cp3 and LBJ will somehow become the new Showtime with Bynum and Kobe.

I'm getting tired of convincing myself it will never happen. I like to dream....

November 8, 2009  01:01 PM ET

The Hornets for the most part stood pat during free agency and then signed a low rated free agent (Diogu I believe) and tried to sell him as the answer to the issues. Next they will fire the Coach because this team is surely his fault. This is why I've had trouble embracing the Hornets.

Okafur can be moved, they won't get much but cap relief is more important to ownership. I agree West is underpaid but one of them has to be moved, West will bring back more.

CP is gone no matter what, they overachieved in the past and didn't improve the roster in order to stay with the Wests elite. Paul can only do so much and he's wasting his talents in NO.

Oh god no! Phil Jackson is a PG killer. I love the Lakers and CP3, but that would have to be the worst team for him to end up on.

I know I'm gonna get flamed for saying this, but he would be perfect for the Knicks. D'Antoni needs a great PG to shine, and what better one then CP3? Although I don't think he would want to go to another suck-as team.

November 8, 2009  02:03 PM ET

If chance Paul gets he should sign with the Celtics....
