Ex-Eagle: Cowboys everything wrong about NFL

In a new book about the Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh, who coached in Philadelphia from 1998-2007, had this little ditty about why the Eagles have been more successful than the Dallas Cowboys over the past decade. "Why is that? Because what [Eagles coach] Andy Reid and his program stand for is the opposite of what the Cowboys stand for. The Cowboys are a star system. It's all about building around individuals first and collecting talent, collecting great players," Harbaugh said. "Andy has always been about building a team. And over the long haul, it's a team sport, and one of the greatest examples of that is what's happened with the Eagles and the Cowboys over the last 10 years. The Cowboys stand for everything that's wrong with the NFL."

REALLY? Where the superbowl rings at EAGLES? These clowns talking like Eagles have been a dominant force in the NFL by winning a few superbowls in the last decade. Going to the playoffs is enough for the Eagles and beating Dallas during the year is their superbowl. Maybe in another 10 years Andy Reid can get his sons off coke, beat dallas during regular season, and continue to watch superbowl from home with Mcnabb as they both eat a warm delicious bowl of chunky soup.

Eagles the only team in NFC Beast with 0.0 SUPERBOWL RINGS.

When Baltimore and Brian Billick parted ways I thought that the organization would finally have a little class. I was wrong again. Harbaugh is a whiny beeotch and he and his team are a pack of Sally's crying about the refs all the time.

Because you can't read:

coach John Harbaugh, who coached in Philadelphia from 1998-2007

Note the part where John Harbaugh started coaching in Philly, 1998. Now, how many playoff games as Dallas won since 1998. In case you haven't heard, the answer is zero.

I guess "No Child Left Behind" did in fact, leave you behind. Reading comprehension isn't your strong point, is it? Then again, do you have a strong point?

No, remember, it is only Brady that does that. Even though the Ravens were crying like a 3 year old girl not getting their way in a store, Brady was blamed for pointing out a penalty. Every OL and DL player does it, but it is just Brady.

Remember, Ravens tough. We've been told so many times, it must be true, right?

it's interesting that there isn't a lot of cowboy fans just climbing all over this... hmmm... must still be in church, or poking dogeys... or silence is consent?

November 8, 2009  10:22 AM ET

this article is talking about dallas the last 10 yrs. i'm a cowboy fan till the end, but there is some truth to what's happened the last decade.... or longer since we've won a playoff game. that's what happens when you get rid of a real coach like Jimmy Johnson and replace w/ "yes" men while Jerry controls the team.

November 8, 2009  10:28 AM ET

why does Jerry Jones think he is an adequate GM? And yes, I know he's filth rich, so do not state the obvious

FU. Win a SB Eagles or perhaps five. Yes, it's been a long time for the Cowboys, how long has it been for the Eagles? Perhaps you should attend a church session or perhaps get an education.

49 years for the Eagles.

Just sayin'.

November 8, 2009  10:33 AM ET

Frankly, I thought that the Raiders stood for everything wrong with the NFL...

November 8, 2009  10:34 AM ET

I didn't know Harbaugh was an expert on everything.....

Hey John, what's the economy going to do over the next couple of years?

Talented players are important. Good coaching it what puts a team over the top, ask any Patriots fan.

The only star in Dallas is the one painted on the field.

Well, John - that is one less book sold here in the Great State...

So, DeMarcus Ware is a no talent bum, same as Jason Witten.

I agree, it hasn't just been Dallas though, I think he just used them as an example. As far as their being stars in Dallas? the only one I can think of now is the one painted on the field.

Probably because they realize that arguing over crap like this is retarded. ;) And no, I'm not at all a Cowboy's fan.

November 8, 2009  10:47 AM ET

I guess we'll see what happens after tonight's matchup!

Incredibly dumb post. Look past the hate. There are a lot of talented football players on the Dallas Cowboys roster. Please tell me you were turned down for a drivers license. Enough nuts on the road as it is.

Indeed. First place in the NFC East at stake. The Eagles are playing very well, should be a good game.
