Navy loss a deal-breaker for Weis?
After Saturday's 23-21 loss to Navy, Notre Dame can officially be described as a football program in turmoil. Speculation about coach Charlie Weis' position on the imaginary bun warmer will come from all the directions. Game No. 7 this season decided by seven points or fewer, decided in the final seconds. This one, though, won't go away. It's one that will be on the top of the pile come review time. ND athletic director Jack Swarbrick will keep this one in his top right-hand drawer. It could be a deal-breaker.

Weis cannot coach at the big time level. Some guys are great assistants but just not head coaches and Charlie is one of them. Not a tragedy but he needs to realize leadership and respect along with stature comes out in some coaches but not him. He has lost the alumni support escpecially of the ex players and is gone after this season. It's a done deal. Brian Kelly will be the next ND coach.

I used to be a Weis supporter, but enough is enough. I'm finally convinced he needs to go.

The loss is a dealbreaker for me. Tell you what...lets beat a ranked team (Pitt or Stanford) and win a meaningful bowl game...and then my mind would be open to Weis returning. But I don't think that will happen.

Two new Jabba threads this morning, and one from the weekend that's still at least semi-active. T&R is being totally shameless.
C'mon! Tennessee's won a couple of games, so surely Kiffin has said something cocky that he could be ridiculed for. There's gotta be something that could start people talking about the seemingly inevitable showdown between Saban and Meyer. Maybe something that would let us rub salt in Iowa's and Oregon's deflating wounds. Perhaps something Mack is doing to keep his players focused (or at least awake) as they prepare for Baylor. Michigan's collapse after a great start, and speculation as to what that means for RichRod's job security. tOSU's quiet (everything about SweatervestGuy is low key, it seems) resurgence. Anything but another ****ing Jabba the Weis thread.

The mods don't like for you to say "****king". I found that out every time I whined about Crabtree's catch last year.

Great season huh?! I'm an SC guy all the way, but I can't help but marvel (?) at the PAC 10 and its play this year, I think next year is going to be even crazier. I think coach Pete has helped raised the level of competition in the league and that the PAC 10 will represent itself well during bowl season...

1-11 in recent bowl history and they talk about being deserving of a BCS game, someone was talking championship earlier this year. I can't buy material this funny. Please never leave Notre Dame, and NEVER find the salad bar.

Watching Notre Dame lose for the 2nd year in a row to Navy was truly great medicine, since on a different channel my Lions were being embarrassed once again. Looks like they fired the torpedoes and sank the aircraft carrier parked on the Irish sideline.

If T&R can re-use Jabba threads over and over, I should be able to re-use derisive images.

Hey Weis needs to stay, he almost beat a rebuilding USC team, barely lost to Navy and has a dazzling 2 and 2 record against teams with winning records.
Of course I don't like ND, so I want him to stay

I, Pecosleo Marchibrota said that Notre Dame would never win another national championship.Charlie Weis is supposed to be a great offensive mind. All he's done is make a fool of himself.Notre Dame will fade slowly into obscurity. For a Catholic university to embrace radical politicians is an affront to Our Lady.
