06:35 AM ET 11.10 | With more than 48 hours to go before Rutgers and South Florida actually meet on the field, the first verbal shots have already been fired. Monday afternoon, South Florida's senior linebacker Kion Wilson mentioned the Scarlet Knights' offensive line, when asked by reporters where he thought the Bulls might have potential advantages. When asked to elaborate, he told the St. Petersburg Times the following: "Their offensive line had extremely a lot of hype going into the game, but they're second in the Big East in giving up sacks. They don't handle stunts and pressure very well, so hopefully coach (defensive coordinator Joe) Tresey will be aggressive with the play-calling and have our defensive line do a lot stunting and a lot of blitzing and, hopefully, we'll be able to get pressure on the quarterback."

That's a pretty safe team to take a shot at.

Exactly. What's next....taking a shot at Syracuse?

Pretty strong talk from a team that continually folds the 2nd half of the season. Better worry about the timber in your own eye.

Taking shots at FCS schools

Schiano should have jumped when he had the chance.

Hahaha.. .I was thinking his next shot would be at FAMU or St Thomas Aquinas High School... Or maybe ND

Is Rutgers-South Florida still a big game? Thought Cincy and Pitt were the Big East news leadersnothing for them? Seems like the forum likes losers Notre Dame-Michigan-Rutgers-South Florida.

Sounds more like an "observation" than a "shot".

South Florida would KILL Colgate. (Not Crest, though.)

He could still get the Penn State Job if it opens

Wilson's a linebacker. He's going to cite that which gives him a chance to make plays and possibly shine. He wants stunts and blitzes. He wants to ride that QB like a sled after hitting him high and knocking him down. He wants to get to the RBs behind the line. He wants to corral the reverse and throw the opponent for a ten yard loss. He wants to bat the ball out of the air. He wants to strip the ball and return it for a TD.

The Newark Star-Ledger gives it the trash talk angle for the frenzied local fans. Hmmm.... I wonder if the travelling Rutgers students shout/chant epithets at the opposing team, alumni, and fans.

Well, we did cut our 3 game losing streak down to 2 games this year.

Doesn't sound like a shot to me. He answered the question intelligently as if he's been getting coached in the film room. Taking a shot would be something along the lines of... "they couldn't block the brownie scout troop selling cookies on campus" or "they suck balls!"

i don't understand what is so bad about this comment? he is asked a direct question by a reporter. he gives a fact in a response followed by his comment that he hopes they have aggressive play-calling.

what is the big deal?
