07:43 AM ET 11.10 | Packers' top executive Mark Murphy said he is in regular contact with general manager Ted Thompson, but in no way wants to stick his nose into the football operation at the halfway point of the season. Murphy knows the team is in danger of missing the playoffs for the fourth time in five years under Thompson, a string that would bring the Packers back to the dismal days of the 1980s. But rather than act now, he said it's better for him to sit back and let things play out before making any judgments about the football operation. He said he would do as he did last year in his first season as president and CEO and wait to see the final outcome before conducting a review.

Murphy continued by saying "...of course I'm not gonna get involved - you think I want Thompson's **** to stick to my shoe?"

Maybe they can get Brett Favre next year.

November 10, 2009  08:07 AM ET

Milwaukee.......

November 10, 2009  08:14 AM ET

It could've been worse. At least he didn't give anybody a vote of confidence or express his support or anything like that. The kiss of death is yet to come.

November 10, 2009  08:21 AM ET

Maybe they can sign Larry Johnson...

Hi, Ron Wolf?
Mornin', Ron. Mark Murphy here.
How ya' doin'?
Can I trouble you for a second....?

November 10, 2009  09:10 AM ET

Wait a minute! You mean the team that Favre took to a 25-23 record his last three years in G.B. is still really a mediocre outfit for the fourth time in five years?

November 10, 2009  09:19 AM ET

maybe he should interefe...

cause it ain't workin now!!!

November 10, 2009  09:19 AM ET

I love the 'wait and see' approach. 'Let me make sure they fail before I go inspecting what we could have done'

Maybe part of this wait and see agenda is to sign Plaxico...

November 10, 2009  09:26 AM ET

He better see about making some moves to shore up the ****' O-line.

Just like last year, they're scoring plenty and the offense isn't the issue. They're giving away games on defense and special teams--just like last year.

It gets kind of annoying to watch the team suffer through the same mistakes for a second season in a row.

It isn't the players that are **** this up.

Man, gotta love FN.

All swear words are obviously 4 letters long.

that would be fitting

November 10, 2009  09:44 AM ET

Hasn't he seen enough already? Is the o-line suddenly going to stop making every defensive end that plays against them look like an All-Pro? The defense couldn't stop the offensive juggernaut of Tampa Bay. Granted, switching schemes in the offseason is a tough adjustment, but it's no excuse for not making plays. I think it's pretty obvious that things haven't worked out so far this season, and I don't see it getting much better.

November 10, 2009  09:46 AM ET

Bring back Mark Chumura to run the team.

No - I mean the sub-par team that Farve came within' 1 throw of taking to the superbowl 2 years ago and the same team whose ass he just kicked (twice) as a washed up thrown away 40 year old QB.... Bye bye Ted... you made the wrong decision...

The quarterback isn't the problem. The offensive line that can't protect Rodgers is the problem.

Take notice, Bill Cowher. A phone call from Mark Murphy is imminent.

Cowher's demeanor and persona would be a nice change. However, I won't lay all the blame on McCarthy. There's plenty to go around.
