07:05 AM ET 11.11 | The coaching carousel in North America is spinning again, and Goal.com has learned it could lead to quite a few changes out West. Chivas USA, despite making the playoffs for a fourth year in a row, failed yet again to advance out of the first round, falling to the Los Angeles Galaxy this past weekend by a penalty-kick goal. Current coach Preki is only contracted to the club for 2010 if the team picks up his option. An inside source has revealed to Goal.com that the club has decided to instead offer the top spot to Martin Vasquez.

Preki is in high demand ...he'll be alright.

Dynamo beat them to the punch yesterday...as one of us so often does.

Maybe he could still play striker for the USMNT? ;)

He's gotta better leg than EJ. More experience than Cunningham. He's more consistant than Conor. And he got more playing time in the EPL with Everton than Altidore has with Hull.

Whadda ya think? ;)

And we know after seeing him go after Dema at the end of Sunday's match that he's still feisty as hell.

USNMT here he comes! Talk about this the last couple days, but I could see him becoming BB's top assistant this team around and the next USNMT coach after Bradley leaves.

Preki is so much better suited to the international game. I think MLS and its intricacies have largely added to some of his outbursts, along with the quality of officiating that seems to get under his skin with increasing regularity. Yes, they screw up calls in international competition, but not to the degree of your average MLS match.

Preki, Kinnear, Nicol and Schmid are the top candidates for the next USMNT coach, so it's a good thing to have him as a number two in waiting. Speaking of Kinnear, here's the press conference he held yesterday leading up to the LA playoff game (halfway down the page):

this is probably for the best, preki can get into the international game and CUSA can go get a new coach as they feel they have hit the ceiling with preki, wether or not they truly have.

Preki is a good coach and will get picked up quickly. I actually like this move for Chivas USA, because I think that they should be heading more in the direction of their parent club. They should be embracing Mexican players and staff whenever possible. I am not saying that they should go to the extreme that Chivas does, I am just saying that it is really wierd to see an obviously Mexican influenced club have someone like Zach Thornton in goal for them.

Would love to see Schmid manage the USMNT, though not at the expense of him leaving Seattle. They are on the way to building something great there if they can maintain relative success in keeping the right players.

May I introduce you to a club named Atletico Bilbao? Only Basque/Spanish players. Do they have a shot at winning anything in the next decade? No. Besides, Thornton was the one constant that Chivas had all year. I guess it's not so weird to me that a manager starts his best players.

Then again, Chivas is apparently going to hire Martin Vasquez as its next manager. The road to the doghouse is decorated with all kinds of interesting intentions.

USMNT maybe, but who wouldn't love to see him back in the MISL breaking skulls!

Just added another podcast to World Football Book if you're interested in a daily EPL broadcast, the only one of its kind in North America:

http://www.worldfootballbook.com/podcasts/index.cfm/epl-talk/

That brings the total to 10 broadcasts to go along with UEFA and MLS videocasts.

I think Sigi is content to stay in Seattle for a while. He walked into to a fantastic situation with Sounders and the city seems to have embraced him as much as they did Lou Pinella and Mike Holmgren when they rolled into town. I think Sigi stays in Seattle until he decides he doesn't want to manage anymore.

Preki is a disgrace, his authorization of brutal/overly physical play is detrimental to mls and us soccer, he needs to go away
