Apples and oranges. Those two were relatively low dollar-low risk experiments that failed. Lackey will be be neither low dollar or low risk.

will the red sox themselves then say they are ruining the market and cry about it the same way they do so when losing out on a free agent who signs with the yankees?

i'll answer my own question: its okay when the sox do it but if the yankees do so then stop everything because its not fair and they are ruining baseball

i'm sorry, make the the whole Epstein family. although i guess it should come as no surprise that someone with the last name Epstein should complain about spending money or the fact that someone else is doing more of it.

I have to believe that Moreno is going to pony up for Lackey to keep the heart and soul of the Angel's rotation away from the axis of evil in the east...

Forget about Lackey, he hates pitching in Fenway. Also he's not worth the money that he is looking for. He is lucky that he's a free agent this year when there's nobody else out there. Sox have other needs.
