Lawyer: Deputy picking on Pacman

The lawyer for Pacman Jones said Wednesday the Williamson County Sheriff's deputy who pulled over the Titans cornerback last month had an agenda. The traffic stop resulted in three citations for Jones, who is serving a yearlong suspension from the NFL for multiple off-field problems, including six arrests. Attorney Worrick Robinson said Deputy David Hadley had "made claims in the past that he was going to pull over Adam Jones the first time he got occasion to, that's exactly what he had been bragging about around other people in Williamson County."

Don't get me wrong, I think Pacman is a complete idiot, but I also believe this story. People need to get off the guys's back, Lord knows he doesn't need any extra rope to hang himself. He does quite well at getting into trouble by himself, he doesn't need any extra help.

July 12, 2007  08:23 AM ET

poor pacman. getting picked on by the police. :(

July 12, 2007  08:23 AM ET

f-u Ninerfag.... did he have incorrect plates on his orange lamborghini?.. did he have proof of insurance?...

then why not charge him?... they would anyone else.... the problem is Pacman's cockiness to drive a car like that and feel that he doesn't have to live by the same laws as every other American.... sound like a familiar story?

July 12, 2007  08:34 AM ET

I think he did something wrong, he got some tickets and thats that. His lawyer is paid to say stuff like this. I dunno if its true or not, but for the love of god, it was a few tickets. Didn't anything happen in sports? At all?

July 12, 2007  09:05 AM ET

Yeah, I agree, when a cop pulls you over and you don't have your REQUIRED documents, and they ticket you, it's because they are just picking on you.

July 12, 2007  09:09 AM ET

Fonz, buddy. What's with all of the hostility. I made a comment on a story, no need to get all rowdy. Keep your dumbass comments to yourself.

July 12, 2007  09:20 AM ET

I'm tired of hearing about this guy.

July 12, 2007  09:22 AM ET

The cops keep catching me doing illegal things!! WAAAAAAAAAAH! Mommy, they're pickin on me... sniff sniff

July 12, 2007  09:40 AM ET

speaking of dumbass comments Ninerfag, teh reason for teh hostility is because of your comment - you said there is truth to this???? ... you think they are picking on PacMan....

look in the mirror loser..

July 12, 2007  09:43 AM ET

Maybe the cop did have it in for him, but if he had had the correct plates, proof of insurance, then they couldnt have done **** to him. He may in deed be getting picked on and singled out, bu he once again is not without fault. His lawyer blaming the cops is just weak, and it's not going to help him with the cops the next time he has a run in with them, and there will be a next time. What time do the strip clubs open in TN? Sorry, coudln't resist.

July 12, 2007  09:50 AM ET

Hmmm.... I figured you for a complete idiot Fonz! Glad you proved me right. Try learning to read and write, it's fundamental ya know. You do know that word right... fundamental. How about necessary?... no, don't know that one either.... hmm, ok, reading is good.....yeah, you know that one, good boy.

Dumbass

July 12, 2007  09:55 AM ET

so jay..its ok for the cops to single a guy out.( which by the way is discrimination) and harrass him just because they want to...i mean..is pacman a citizen?...does he have any rights?...or can any hick town cop just strip you of your rights as an American citizen??..what are you saying??,,,do you even know??

July 12, 2007  09:57 AM ET

When you read the complete story, I think it becomes clear that the cop really was laying for him.

Their position is that Pacman does not have a license, a Tennessee license. His attorney says he is driving on a Georgia license and that Georgia is his home state, Tenn being where he has a job and a secondary home.

His lawyer further states that the car is correctly titled, registered and insured but Pac to his discredit was not carrying this documentation with the vehicle.

The cop's boss sounds like he is trying to toss some flowers on this to cover the stink of some bull****.

It sounds flimsy to me..........

July 12, 2007  10:07 AM ET

Antonio, no I never said it was right. Sorry, I didn't make that clear. IF(and that's a big if) they did single him out they are wrong in doing that. However, the original report said he was pulled over because the plate didn't match the car. PACMAN's lawyer is saying they are singling him out. The facts of the case point to it being Pacman's fault for not having the correct plates on a car. It's not unusual for a cop to pull over a Lamborghini if it has the incorrect plates on it, because if it doesn't have the right plates, then there's a good chance it's stolen. I have a feeling the windows on teh car were tinted, so they would have no idea who they were pulling over.

Just to make it clear. I think it is WRONG if they are singling him out, but I need more proof than just his lawyer saying they are.

According to our data there is a preponderance of recent postings contending that we are internet losers.

(And we are.)

July 12, 2007  10:14 AM ET

Anotnio, I've been pulled over before for no reason. Got pulled over and had the car searched because if matched the description of a car that robbed a gas station. Luckily for me, my registration was in order and I had the right liscense plates on my car. I'm sure if I didn't have them and got a ticket I would have been pissed since I got pulled over for no reason, but I had my **** together.

July 12, 2007  10:28 AM ET

Repeat offenders don't get let off when they do wrong - this ignorant pr*ck wants special treatment because he's a football player? He's special? Better than the everyman? **** him! If I drove a flashy car down the street, the police would notice me too, its the way it works. And if I got ticketed for his infractions, I wouldn't be able to go to the press and say I am being picked on. I feel no pity for this idiot...and even if it IS true, by some fluke luck - and since he seems to believe it IS true - then why in the hell is he so stupid as to not make sure he has all his required paperwork anyway? I don't pick my nose when I know someone is watching me, so if he "knows" the cops are picking on him, why give them the opportunity to actually catch him in the wrong? Its nobody's fault but him, and, hopefully, he screws up a few more times and the league just tells him to take a walk. They don't need any more trash as it is

July 12, 2007  10:32 AM ET

Jason70 if you ever get pulled over & the cops are harassing you just refuse to allow them to search your vehicle & then that will make them decide whether to bring in the dog or not & if you are clean then you won't have anything to worry about you can just laugh @ the stupidness of what the cops are doing. If they play games w/you, you can play w/them.

Hmmm... Driving an orange Lambo, w/ the wrong plates, different registration, and a history of being destructive to his self & others. People around him seem to be shot up alot also when the cop pulls over the car he doesn't know if it is Pacman or not. B/c a yr or so ago Pacman lent his car to a Nashville drug dealer for a rap video & in a drug raid he lost his car. So the cop really doesn't know if their is a killer in the car or just an accomplice to strip club shootings.

Niners4Life

Earth to Niners4Life. I just got a ticket for having a clear plastic cover on my liscense plate. I guess they were picking on me too. You are a nitwit.
