A judge Wednesday ordered Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher and the mother of his 2-year-old son to take a parenting class to learn how to deal with each other. The action came after a three-hour court hearing in which Urlacher and Tyna Robertson testified about their ongoing dispute over transportation of their son to scheduled parental visits.

For a team that just made the right statement with Tank Johnson, The Bears had better keep an eye on this situation to remain consistent in this new era for conduct in the NFL.

A judge Wednesday ordered Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher and the mother of his 2-year-old son to take a parenting class to learn how to deal with each other.

The three-hour class is required in such cases under Will County law, and Archambeault said she thought it could benefit both parties. Urlacher and Robertson do not have to take the class together.

Judge:You guys are acting like a couple of dooshbags doing harm to this child. I'm going to waste your time for three hours.

Yeah, that'll show them.

Keith, the NFL has absolutely nothing to look at. He didn't do anthing illegal. It's a custody battle. Knocking up a stripper though not a very smart thing to do is not illegal.

July 12, 2007  09:50 AM ET

the NFL didnt say that they were only going to punish players for breaking the law...goodell said that any thing that could tarnish the NFL brand would be looked at closely....that means that anything that would make the league look bad or tarnish its image is a concern of the commissioner.....but i agree that so far this situation has not risen to that level

The fascinating thing about American football is the obsessional behavior it engenders in American men.
