Rams players are to report for training camp two weeks from today. Will quarterback Marc Bulger be among them? In an interview Tuesday on Sirius NFL Radio, Bulger hinted that if he doesn't have a new contract in place before camp, he might consider a holdout.

Surely you have observed by now that . . .

July 12, 2007  08:46 AM ET

Holdouts are the worst, the Rams & the Chiefs (LJ) need to get their main players into camp ontime, or risk losing games in a season in which 1 game means so much more than say MLB & NBA games mean in those seasons. Asante will NEVER see Clements money from the Patriots, so put his face on the back of a milk carton (Do they even do that anymore) because you wont see him for a year...

Why can't anyone just honor their contract. The NFL just needs basic contracts with incentives, that's it. none of this holding out crap. You don't wanna play, then you pay the team any money you didn't earn and leave.

And, is not like you are a great '"QB" dude you are just as good as Rex Grossman is, oooppps!!

July 12, 2007  09:18 AM ET

I think it is safe to say that Bulger is better than Grossman

July 12, 2007  09:19 AM ET

Good news for the Niners.

July 12, 2007  09:41 AM ET

i feel for bulger - he's one of the most (if not the most) underrated QBs in the game today...he doesnt deserve a huge contract, but the rams need to realize theyve got a solid QB on their hands

July 12, 2007  09:44 AM ET

The Chiefs are weary of awarding LJ with a long-term contract because of the possibility of him completely breaking down in a couple of years.... Look at Priest Holmes, the guy hasn't played in two years but won't retire so he can still be on the Chiefs payroll... But we desperately need LJ on the field, we'd be a 4-12 team without him

July 12, 2007  09:46 AM ET

buck em...i'll agree with that as long as the organizations give the players guaraunteed contracts

July 12, 2007  09:48 AM ET

He's sn above average QB and the Rams would have a hard time replacing him. That said, I wouldn't break the bank for him. I do hate holdouts. I'm torn on them though. I do think players should get as much as they can since the teams can cut them at anytime, but on the other hand they did sign the contract. Nobody made them sign it. I think the only way that they will ever stop holdouts is for owners just to let the players hodlout for as long as they want and just fine them everyday they aren't there. It'll never happen, but one can dream.

I've got no respect for holdouts. If you signed the contract, sack it up and play it out. Ask for a renegotiation, and if they won't give you one then play out your contract then leave. Still though, as a niner fan I'm glad to see Bulger taking the path of the crybaby.

According to our data there is a preponderance of recent postings contending that we are internet losers.

(And we are.)

I agree that this guy is potentially the most underrated QB in the league, he gets the ball where his receivers can catch it just about as well as anybody not named Manning (Peyton) or Brady (and Palmer, I would say). To say he isn't worth a big contract is not fair, he's been one of the few players on that team who has played consistently well the last few years. Do they really think that they can replace him with someone better? I bet the Falcons would take this guy right now, as would many other teams out there. The Rams go nowhere is this guy holds out...but they won't really be going anywhere anyway. Not a tough division right now, but even WITH Bulger the Rams are probably the 3rd best team in it, after the Seahawks and 49ers (go Niners!), and WITHOUT Bulger, they won't even be as good as the Cardinals. As a Niners fan, I hope Bulger sits out...maybe the Bears can sign him...they still got what's his face they're trying to get rid of...Briggs

Even if Bulger holds out he will get his deal, before the season starts & even if he goes into the yr w/o a contract extension he will just be franchised next yr to keep him from going to Detroit. I actually remember Martz loving the Rams backup Ryan Fitzpatrick as well!!

July 12, 2007  11:30 AM ET

I agree, they are holding out so they can get their money & if they didnt perform they would be cut, but im just saying from a fans perspective, not the NFL business perspective that holdouts **** a player up...

July 12, 2007  11:44 AM ET

Bulger is Ok. If he does hold out - Understand as team are do not honor contracts either. It's a "what have you done for me lately league". So pay the man or San Fran and AZ will run this division.

July 12, 2007  11:57 AM ET

Hey go Canada, spoken like a true 9er fan. Bulger will sign and the rams will be good. They have the best offense in the league and if there defense plays just decent, they will run away with there division. Jackson, Holt, Bulger. Jackson is the 3rd or 4th best running back in football, Holt is still top 5, and Bulger is 3rd best behind Manning and Palmer. Once again there fate lies with the defense.

July 12, 2007  12:21 PM ET

So what they wont win the west anyway

July 12, 2007  01:40 PM ET

TN_FAN is an idiot. Bulger compares to Rex Grossman? Dude, you need to get a clue. Bulger is THE MOST underrated QB in the NFL. Ask any NFL analyst and you can hear that same comment. LOL.

Dodger...the best offense if the league??? Are you kidding? There's a better offense 4 hours down I-70 from them in Indianapolis. They have a good offense, but it's not the best.
