06:44 AM ET 11.18 | Curiousity about Michael Beasley apparently extends to the White House. When Dwyane Wade spoke with President Barack Obama recently, ``he asked a lot of questions about Beasley,'' Wade said. ``He told us to make sure we stay on him and lead him in the right direction. I called Beasley and told him, `The president is talking about you.' He was pumped. Hopefully, things like that will show him a lot of people want great things out of him.''

Who can we call do get someone to stay on Obama and lead HIM in the right direction?

November 18, 2009  07:11 AM ET

This should give Mike a boost in the morale department. Once you know the president is personally rooting for you , it's got to get you pumped up.

Though it also brings with it added pressure, Hope he can handle it.

It's good to have a president that can understand and relate to drugees. I mean he's no hypocrite! But don't you kids think doing drugs will get you in the white house. For many, it destroys lifes.

This article is FN's way of asking for trouble on the boards today.

lol, Nice!

I am starting to wonder does Beasley really have the talent to be that great player that he is supposed to be. So far I am not impressed by his game.

Vacation? Come on man. I'm no liberal either but I can't get into calling a foreign diplomacy trip a vacation. I'm hoping he's telling Wade to make sure that dude isn't leading a poor lifestyle moreso than playing on the court.

" 'The president is talking about you.' He was pumped."
I'd be more pumped that there is someone like Wade on my team as a mentor.

November 18, 2009  08:55 AM ET

I know that no one, Presidents included, work 24 hours a day. But Obama seems to be popping up in sports related news pretty often

November 18, 2009  08:57 AM ET

I think Obama wants to play a game of horse versus Beasley and wants to make sure he's still not on the "chronic".

Here's hoping this thread doesn't become another platform for politics hater-orade later today....

Let's see - he was speaking out against censorship on the Internet in China, so people there can make comments like you just did...

You know it will definitely become a forum for zingers and ignorant comments. Which will be sad but it's definitely expected. As far as Beasley is concerned, it's definitely a morale and a confidence booster. Let's just hope he takes the President's words to heart.

It's funny if this becomes a debate about politics...didn't think that was the point of the article.

Thanks Nashty1, the quote #14 is a feeble-minded quote and so is #4.
