07:58 AM ET 11.18 | According to unnamed sources in multiple reports, Monta Ellis could be the next disgruntled player to get traded by Golden State. Coach Don Nelson denied a similar report last week, and general manager Larry Riley on Tuesday said that the reports were "making too much" of a potential meeting with Ellis' agent, Jeff Fried. Riley, however, wouldn't completely dismiss the trade rumors, saying "I don't have any trades working right now, but who is to say what might happen down the road?"

OMG Shocking!

I wonder if they are shopping him due to that nasty block Lebron did on his lay up during last night game. My room rattled when he did that, sorry Ellis you got denied, try again.

How is he playing? Has anyone seen him play this year? what team can he help?

Ha-ha - I mentioned this a couple days ago that this would be the next story thread out of GS - surprised "Cleveland" wan't thrown in the mix for good measure.

That's actually pretty funny! LOL

I would do a Ellis to Marvin Williams deal. ATL needs a backup PG to back Bibby. Williams is an excellent talent but he gets no touches in thier huge front court.

man that was assault & battery the way he beat that ****!!!! I woke up, and it was the first thing i saw on sportscenter.....he blocked him so hard i thought i was dreaming....laid back down, and was late for work!!!!!

If they are going to trade him it should be for the right reasons, not because he's disgruntled. If so then Magette is going to be next and then anyone and everyone who complains. Can't build a team that way.

Do they need a 66 million dollar backup? Is Jeff Teague that bad?

November 18, 2009  10:01 AM ET

This is what I see with the warriors. Lets suck for 10years - draft players and as soon as they develop we trade them; suck for another 10years - draft prospects and trade them. I don't get the logic in the business model.

With this I'm apt to believe if Golden State drafted Lebron they'd trade him before his fourth season. Nobody dare question their propensity to trade star players!

Backup in name sakes only. he will still get good minutes. ideally i would like Bibby t not run more than 32 mins. So Bibby, Ellis, Crawford can share the backcourt burden. All of them can score as well.
Teague is really really not there yet. I like what I see, but right now he is a deer in the middle of headlights. He is not NBA ready.
Plus we are not using Williams at all. have you seen his numbers? Plays 30+ minutes, gets 4-5 touches for 6 points and a couple boards. Maurice Evans can easily do that for us.
Williams can get plenty shots in GSW. Its a good deal for both.

Change all the names and faces you want, but the Warriors are still going to be a bad team until they get new ownership.

November 18, 2009  11:00 AM ET

Golden State's problem is Nelson. Unfortunately nothing is going to be done about it. He has managed to manipulate the owner into hiring his buddy Riley, and together they call the shots. The players will continue to be disgruntled, and will continue to underachieve due to the level of morale.

Also they need that money to resign Joe Johnson in the off-season.

November 18, 2009  11:26 AM ET

I don't see why since he is a great 2nd or third option that is paid like one, but they may need to completely purge their roster to rebuild. Getting rid of Jackson was a big first step if the plan is to rebuild.

Obviously to completely rebuild they need to lose Nelson.

Not much of a surprise. I don't think its a good move by the Warriors to do so but ever since his moped accident, and how both sides handled that, it's been clear that Monta and the Warriors were due for a seperation.Might as well see what you can get for him and just move on.

Agree

Well, its only fitting that Ellis is next to leave, after all, he was at odds with management last season due to his own misfortune, and at the beginning of this season he voiced his opinion concerning playing alongside Stephen Curry. The Warriors have good players but must rid themselves of an over obundance of players that play the same position. Cory Megetti and Rony Turiaf are two pieces that don't fit also.
