07:19 AM ET 11.18 | Dion Waiters received national attention two and a half years ago by orally committing to Syracuse before playing in his first high school basketball game. Yesterday morning, the 6-foot-4, 215-pound guard made good on his commitment to the Orange by signing a binding national letter of intent.

Why any kid signs to play at Syracuse is in itself amazing. Boeheim has to best the best recruiter in the country. How he gets any kid to go to upstate NY in a frozen tundra in a dank dark drabby small town in the snow belt with the college campus in the middle on a hill is a testomonial to the great job Boeheim has done selling himself. He has done the best job in college basketball recruiting history.

Are you serious with this comment? Have you ever been to syracuse? Iv'e lived in North Carolina and saw duke and Nc's campus. I dont care if it was 100 there everyday both of those schools are terrible, terrible education, terrible dorms, dukes facilities suck MJ saved NC's facilities and everyone there is a meth head. Dark drabby? it's voted one of the top ten campuses every year, no one compares to our academics and facilities...what school would you suggest?

He managed to steal Carmelo anthony from Maryland which brought the 'Cuse their only NCAA Championship in 2003. He belongs to an elite coaching fraternity with 800 wins. The amazing part to that is he has all 800 wins with the 'Cuse. On top of that he has a "Trophy" wife. He played guard for the"Cuse and his back court teammate was Dave Bing, another member of the HOF. Quite a career for a coach who has to sell recruits on playing in the "snow belt" which is Syracuse.

Stole Carmelo Anthony from maryland? I can't believe where these people come up with their stories. Go look at a recent interview Melo made where he says syracuse was his only choice since he was in 8th grade. He's from NYC not Baltimore, Maryland didn't have a snowballs chance in hell to get him to go there, no school did and if it wasn't for Keith Smart he'd have two championships. Stole Melo from Maryland hahahah funniest thing ive ever heard maybe he stole him from UNC.

Syracuse is not a dump. I'm in the military and I've been to some dumps. I was born and raised in Syracuse and didn't gain a full appreciation of my beloved city until I left it. Sure there are other better places to be but if you seriously think Syracuse is a dump then you truly haven't seen much.....

He lives in Cincy he's just bitter he's going no where and his teams going no where. Brian Kelley? he didn't think the great state of ohio was that good did he? I already know he thought the school was **** just a stepping stone to a better job.

Giving some props to Boehim's right hand man - Mike Hopkins. He spends a lot of time building connections with these kids while coach is distracted with USA b'ball (or golfing). Hops will provide a seamless transition when Boehim finally calls it quites (if he ever does).

Someone who knows what they're talking about. Yes Hopkins does much of the recruiting nowadays along with coach Murphy. Boeheim just comes in at the end and seals the deal.
