08:09 AM ET 11.20 | Several clubs have expressed interest in Jason Bay in what is a down market for upper-level talent. "Without getting into numbers of clubs, there's been - I'd use the word "extraordinary" level of interest," said Bay's agent, Joe Urbon. "There hasn't been any surprise in the clubs that have contacted us." Urbon declined to comment on the specifics of the negotiations with the Sox, though Sports Illustrated reported that Bay had rejected a four-year offer for approximately $60 million from Boston.

What's wrong with $60 million for four years??? How much more can he expect to get? At least he's not represented by Boras.

made this argument yesterday...life is all about timing and Bay is taking advantage of a poor FA market.

he may end up with $20MM per...crazy!

that's it...i'm taking my kid out of school and all we are going to focus on is baseball - 24/7. By the time he hits the majors the annual salary will be about $45MM...i think we could live on that...may have to pick up a job at Blockbuster to fill in the gaps but we'll make it work.

had a neighbor that did that about 15 years ago, home schooled and spent 6 - 8 hours a day on baseball. Kid had talent, got drafted in the 3rd round. Too bad his arm was toast by the time he was 20. Never made it passed AA. Now he's used selling cars.
