Seahawks interested in Holmgren?

06:56 AM ET 11.21 | Mike Holmgren said in his weekly appearance with KJR's Dave "Softy" Mahler that he has not spoken with Cleveland Browns owner Randy Lerner about the possibility of becoming the team's director of football operations. But he did say he would be interested in talking with Lerner, saying "I'd love to talk with Cleveland someday." Don't think the Browns are the only team that will be calling Holmgren. Several teams will be interested in bringing him on in some form.... But will one of those teams be the Seattle Seahawks?

Great reporting. When you hear something definite then tell us.

"I'd love to talk with Cleveland someday."

Does anyone seriously think he's telling the truth?

Sure. He said someday. January 24, 2012. August 17, 2014. November 15, 2013. March 4th, 2011. He has a lot of choices. He didn't necessarily mean this month or even this year.

Message to the reporter who wrote this story - Speculation is one thing. Ambiguity is another. And this article is terrible. Keep this up and you will be back to that fast food career you so desperately wanted to leave behind.

Give the guy a break Otis, he works in Tacoma for cryin' out loud!

Wait, I am having the strangest feeling of deja vu.

Or the lead reporter for the New York Post.

Oh - wait a minute. I forgot that there are outlets who would crave this level of reporting.

Thanks for reminding me, Schaden!

He might start an Emu farm. News at eleven.

Or the NY Times. Love Maureen Dowd and Frank Rich. Favorite section is the letters to the editor. Funnier than the comics.

I've got to get out more... Can they be read online?

The NY Times is a great paper, if you avoid the front page and the op-eds. I know, who can tell the difference? The letters to the editor is a must read. "I used to be a Republican until Bush's tax cuts."

The Travel section covers interesting places, if you don't mind paying through the nose to see them. I backpack everywhere I go so $50 lunches, $120 dinners and $300-a-night rooms don't really work for me.

I've seen $50 lunches. Scoop of tuna on a leaf of lettuce with a slice of tomato. Think I'll stick to camp fire beans and freshly caught fish.

Holy crap...I thought it was closing in on the year 2010...Apparently we've hit a time warp, and Holmgren has not already coached the Seahawks, took them to a superbowl, then retired from the game due to family and stress. When they play the Steelers in Superbowl XL, put money on the refs...I mean Steelers. Trust me, for I am from the future.

November 21, 2009  10:27 AM ET

Holmgren is a burnt out mediocre coach, why would anyone want him? His best days are past and all he is looking for now is a paycheck. Noone should hire him he is below average as GM and Coach. Stupid move even considering him for anything but a car wash manager.

As I'm typing this I'm listening to the NFL Network and they reported Holmgren "Would love to join the Cleveland organization".

The Tribune reported that Dewey had won too...
