07:47 AM ET 11.21 | It seems that every winter, the Red Sox always have plenty to talk about with agent Scott Boras. That could again be the case, with the Boston Herald -- citing a baseball source -- reporting Friday night that Boston has expressed at least some level of interest in outfielders Matt Holliday and Rick Ankiel, as well as lefty reliever Mike Gonzalez and third baseman Adrian Beltre.

Saying that a team is interested in a Scott Boras client is like saying a drunk is interested in drinking alcohol, considering that many of MLB's top players have hired Boras as their agent.

No, no, no, and no. Thanks anyway Scott...you can keep 'em all.

I didn't mean to quote #1...sorry.

After all the bad blood between the 2 sides over the years I don't think so. The player would have to be a big star and this year Boras does not have any...Matt Holliday is going to be paid much more than he's worth. If the Sox can't resign Bay I hope they look elsewhere for a left fielder.

How did I become the analogy in this story?

Adrian Beltre without his performance enhancers is not worth the price.

Does this mean that the Sox are planning on bidding against themselves??.... Bravo!....

Sir Robin, do you think Gonzalez will get the kind of offers he is obviously hoping for with Boras as his agent? Do you see the Braves making him a serious offer? Soriano may be gone as well....correct?

Do you mean the testicle he lost this past season?!

November 21, 2009  12:26 PM ET

I don't see how Beltre fits in.

Red Sux can be in bed with Borass all they want, but take note of how Artie handles the fu@ker. He won't sign any player he represents, but has no problem selling him the most expensive suite at the Big A...Classic business relationship.

Story would make more sense if Boras was representing a good shortstop. Or how about a decent backup catcher so the Sox can release Varitek.

Be prepared to overspend if the player is a Boras client......

That Sir, is a controversial stance....

More the products he used during his career season with the L.A. Dodgers.

Boras would be looking for $10 mil per for 4 years for a decent back-up catcher.

I'm all for the Sox picking up these fine upstanding ballplayers. It's low-risk high-reward, right? How can you lose?

November 21, 2009  09:31 PM ET

Must be the Bong ..Man ... But this thread makes no sense .... Yo pass that sh***t

November 21, 2009  10:32 PM ET

As a loyal member of the Northern California Red Sox Nation,I say no the the Boras clients and yes to resigning Bay.

Well if the Sox do make a run for Holliday and Boras tells them he has another bidder, and they need to raise the bid maybe they'll believe him this time.

And how did Bay even hit the open market, the Sox are always trying to get people cheap, you like him, he likes you , pay the man stop looking for a discount.

Keeps burning them in the a$$
