02:37 PM ET 11.23 | The Herald understands Rangers have watched Stuart Holden twice recently, with chief scout Ewan Chester running the rule over the player as the USA went down 3-1 in a friendly earlier this week. Maurice Johnston, the former Scotland and Old Firm striker, is believed to have recommended Holden to Rangers assistant manager Ally McCoist after notifying him of his availability on a free transfer.

i give up, he was wearing designer jeans with a sport coat, trendy scarf tied in a know all with the faux hawk,

celtic must be thanking their lucky stars that the Klejstan deal fell through. I don't mind, unlike others, Rogers going to Scotland...

Holden has said he's going to make sure he's getting PT in a World Cup year. I don't know if going to the same place Beasley is sitting will be understood by him as the smart play. I like something for him a little more modulated and subtle like Aberdeen, if he doesn't just resign with Houston for the season.

Aberdeen was the one ive heard most from.....

Don't go to Rangers. That is where US players go to rot on the bench. Plus I don't think that the level of play is any higher than MLS.

This isn't true. As soon as Edu got fit before, he was playing regularly. Then he got seriously injured which is why he hasn't played recently. Beasley is a bad example because his form has been rotten for some time. If Beasley was on your team, would you play him? Still, even DB has rec'd some PT. When Reyna was at Rangers, he played regularly as well. So, this statement is not accurate.

where have you been, havent you heard, he's a virtuoso! at least according to MLS' advertising dept

Wanna pick a club with some history: If it wasn't for the success of Greg Berhaltet there, I'd say 1860 Munich is a bad team to go to if you're American. Josh Wolff went there and couldn't buy a goal (2 goals in 34 games).... Kenny Cooper went and started fast (2 goals right away) but nothing since and even lost his starting spot to a 19 year old....

That's a totally fugging stupid commercial.

Edu was playing and starting once he was accimilated into the scottish game.... until the injury caused him to miss the end of the season and all of the current one... he'll be back soon and once fit, will be starting again

in all fairness to Beasley, he was getting PLENTY of time prior to his injury that stimmed a series of injuries... he was doing quite well to be truthful... then the injuries have taken its toll on him and he's lost a step... not to mention the player who took his spot his a run of solid performances

as far as i know Renya didn rot on the bench....

as for the level of play... i agree toe to toe SPL is really no better then MLS apart Celtic and Rangers... thought one would argue he'd get european PT by going to rangers.... either way i hope Holden avoids Scotland ...

I could write a better commercial with my little doggy asslips...

November 23, 2009  04:30 PM ET

I would argue the majority of SPL is only better than MLS because of payroll.
If MLS paid what Dundee or Aberdeen paid, every MLS team would be better.

Holden would be smarter to go to a team below Aberdeen or Dundee.

I'd rather beat Rangers or Celtic, but wait they are the only ones who can afford to pay enough to turn a players head.

I agree it's awful. It's also non-sensical. You take your highest paid, best known player whom many in the general public know as an MLS star and call him "a specialist." Ludicrous.

Goldenballs is a little more than just a free-kick taker. He's quite a passer as well... Oh well... But Klejstan a "virtuoso"! That makes me laugh so hard I trickled a pee pee in my doggie shorts...

How are doggie shorts, I thought about getting my dog a pair but thought they would be uncomfortable. virtuoso makes me laugh every time, I didnt know it was a word, but seeing kleisjan as one, it cant be good. now maybe a trequartista could be used and have lluneberg model
