06:44 AM ET 11.24 | The Angels have resumed their pursuit of pitcher Roy Halladay, the Toronto Blue Jays ace who would be an extremely attractive alternative to free-agent right-hander John Lackey, with whom the team continues to negotiate. The Dodgers also have inquired with the Blue Jays about Halladay.

Marlins, Pirates, Royals and any other team that continues to rip off their fans by fielding a AAA roster and calling them major league players.

I think the Mets have too many other holes to fill. The Yankees and Redsox are already poised to overpay for Halliday.

Halladay would be a great add for the Dodgers, but jeez ........... over the years they've wasted a lot of money on big names like K. Brown, D. Dreifort, and recently J. Schmidt. Big names, BIG money.

Check the stats and his consistency year to year (not to mention the rediculously low offensive help he receives) Halladay is a stud, he's a number one on 95% of the MLB teams. Whats more interesting is what Toronto will be able to acquire for him, they really botched it by not getting good value last year I think...

Today its the Dodgers and Angels, Tomorrow it will be 2 different teams, and the day after that 2 more different teams.... How these reporters have a job that pays baffles me...

Every AL team with the pieces to trade will be going after him but who has the best pieces? the Red Sox are depleted with prospects and all they have to give is their young pitching, to trade that for Halladay would be giving up the future for the short term present. the Ysankees have the pieces to give up but you have to ask at what copst for them too, do they give up one of their highly ranked catching prospects or pitching prospects, what will that leave them with. I think Halladay would find an NL team like the Dodgers who are annual playoff contenders to be an attractive idea and they have a great player like Juan Pierre to headline a trade offer. who knows we probably wont know about the end result for months anyway.

Teams interested in (insert big name player here) are the few that have the cash to pay the ridiculous salaries...and that's the problem with baseball.

LOL. a Great player like Juan Pierre? No way the Jays take Juan Pierre back in any trade involving Halladay. He has a big salary and he's old. Neither of which the jays are looking for.
I'll agree Halladay may want to pitch ing the NL though. His numbers would be SICK if he can get out of the AL East....not like they are not sick enough.

Oh, so now they want him... why didn't the Dodgers pursue Halladay about 4 months ago? I'll believe it when I see it and with the Dodgers in marital disarray... this is hogwash... Angels, Yankees, Sox... those are the likely weiners...

If The Jays could only score 3 runs a game this guy would be a 25 game winner every year.

I disagree I think Juan Pierre had a great season especially when Manny Ramirez had his suspension, Juan Pierre really stepped up, and he still managed to hit over .300 for the season and get 30 steals as a part time player. He is younger than Johnny Damon at 32 and gets paid the same way, eight million a year is not being over paid for a guy like that these days and I think that full time he has the potetial to be as good as Johnny Damon offensively, without the power hitting but an extra base hitting and base stelaing machine as he has been in the past.

Halladay has said he wants a team that has their spring in Florida. West coast teams may be renting a one season stud so giving up alot for one season doesn't make sense. He lives in Florida.

The new Toronto GM said he would give a negotiation window for an extension so you're not exactly going to have him for only one year. I'd be willing to bet if the Angels couldn't work out an extension that they would pull their trade proposal. Same goes with the Sox and Yanks. Doyers don't have a legit chance to get him unless they cut about 16 mil off their payroll right now.
