09:01 AM ET 11.29 | Braylon Edwards is trying to explain his lack of production by telling the New York Post: "We're receivers, we drop passes. . . . I've seen [everyone from] the lowest guy on the totem pole to Jerry Rice drop passes. . . . I was watching a game and saw a Pro Bowl-bound receiver every year drop three passes and nothing was said about it. Too much emphasis is placed on myself in general."

When Braylon starts making some impactful plays on a regular basis, then the public might ignore his dropsies a bit more

HE SAID WHAT??? I am so glad this guy is not in Cleveland anymore, We have enough problems as is and he only added to them.

Good job Braylon, Way to strive for mediocracy! Too much emphasis is placed on you because you make a ton of $$ and are expected to produce.

November 29, 2009  09:06 AM ET

He is just butterfingers.

November 29, 2009  09:12 AM ET

He and Roy need to sit down and come up with new creative ways to describe their inability to hold onto the ball.

November 29, 2009  09:13 AM ET

"But, but, but... the other kids drop passes too! Why is everyone picking on me?"

November 29, 2009  09:15 AM ET

Hello, it's what we get paid to do.

November 29, 2009  09:18 AM ET

He should just say..."I'm Braylon Edwards, its what I do.."

November 29, 2009  09:25 AM ET

Braylon Edwards led the NFL in dropped passes (16) last year. Other guys may drop passes... but I don't see them leading the league at it.

It sickens me that Mr. Dropsy would be so arrogant to put his name in the same sentence as Jerry Rice.

You know the first NFL record Jerry Rice broke?
- His rookie season: 15 Dropped Passes.

Yeah, that Rice guy really stunk it up. Terrible career, never made an impact, never should have been drafted. What were they thinking?

November 29, 2009  11:48 AM ET

That receiver Edwards saw drop three passes in a game just had a bad day. Sadly, three drops is a good day for Braylon.

November 29, 2009  12:04 PM ET

Defend yourself on the field....idiot

November 29, 2009  12:15 PM ET

This guy should learn to say "No comment" when talking with the press.

November 29, 2009  12:21 PM ET

No excuses Bro, your a dropper.

November 29, 2009  12:23 PM ET

Look at the bright side Jets fans. His contract runs out at the end of the season. If you still want him, he can be had cheap. Could be a lot worse, you could have extended his contract for big money when you traded for him.

wow how quickly we forget the great catches he has made this year..he has not had a lot of dropped balls for jets this year, in fact he is thier best reciever by far.. not sure where all this hate is cominng from.

A pro-bowler dropping 3 or 4 passes IS nothing. A first rounder in the prime of his career dropping 16 a season is a story... it's a BUST story.
