10:00 AM ET 12.20 | Months of negotiations have failed to produce an agreement between the Nuggets and George Karl beyond this season. With the Nets' prospective Russian owner and the Hornets already in the market for new coaches next season, the seventh-winningest coach in NBA history is on a track toward free agency. What's going on? Karl's lawyer, Bret Adams, tells me talks with the Nuggets have grown more serious and frequent in recent weeks, and he remains confident something will get done.
