09:10 AM ET 01.05 | It has been assumed for several weeks by those who closely follow the PGA Tour that the San Diego Open at Torrey Pines will be without a title sponsor when the tournament tees off in three weeks. A prudent guess, to be sure, but it doesn't factor in that the Century Club hasn't rested in its efforts to make something happen. And there remains the possibility that a sponsor could be secured as early as this week. Century Club President Tom Wornham said yesterday he still is in negotiations with corporations that would likely agree to sponsor the tournament for only 2010.
