Fedoruk: Flyers need enforcer

Todd Fedoruk may now be a member of the Dallas Stars, but he has a piece of parting advice for the Flyers: Find a heavyweight to replace me. Signed to a one-year, $875,000 contract last week -- "not bad since I was negotiating from a stretcher" -- Fedoruk believes the Flyers need to find someone who can help Ben Eager take on the NHL's most powerful punchers.

Yeah, Todd, the Flyers sure could've used an enforcer last season when you were there. All they had was a punching bag on skates. LOL

July 17, 2007  08:52 AM ET

"A heavy weight like me"? Didnt he get knocked the **** out early in the season?

July 17, 2007  09:05 AM ET

They don't need to find a heavyweight to replace him - they need to find a heavyweight who can at leat hold his own, and it'll be yet another area that tha Flyers improved on from last year. What an idiot fedoruk is...and its a dumb move by the Stars to sign him - he can't play the game, and he can't fight worth a ****, so what purpose does he serve?

HAHAHAHAAHA!! This guy is the Glass Joe of the NHL!!! The big tough Colton Orr knocked him out with one punch!!!

July 17, 2007  10:12 AM ET

Colton Orr f'd him up with one punch , shutty todd

July 17, 2007  12:35 PM ET

you guys are f---ing morons. Dude's been in hundreds of fights, got knocked out one friggin' time and suddenly the guy can't fight. Why don't you posers actually watch some hockey before mouthing off. Morons.

July 17, 2007  12:49 PM ET

JDH, he has actually had several issues fighting. Colton Orr KO'd him, Boogard broke his orbital bones and Eric Cairns literally busted his face up so he had to have plates installed.

July 17, 2007  12:50 PM ET

The flyers should let Hatcher fight

July 17, 2007  01:49 PM ET

efizzle - 'Big tough Colton Orr' has knocked more than a few guys out over the last few years. He's a tough little mofo, along the lines of Domi. No shame for Fedoruk there, but he still needs to learn how to take a punch without breaking his face.

July 17, 2007  01:50 PM ET

And I gotta agree with dynamo - Fedoruk has been knocked out way more than just 'one friggin time'.

July 17, 2007  02:04 PM ET

jdh, at least the rest of the posters aren't asverbally challenged as you are. Calling people you don't know names doesn't say much for your IQ. Get a life!

July 17, 2007  02:12 PM ET

and the little yellow birdie that keeps landing on Homer's shoulder whispering ". . . . get the Boogeyman Homer! . . . . get the Boogeyman !" . . . .

July 17, 2007  02:16 PM ET

The Flyers absolutely need an enforcer . . . . . . and that enforcer should be Boogaard , think about it. . .the east has the lies of Orr , Larocque etc. . . . . . utilize the remaining cap space and lure the Boogeyman to the east!!

July 17, 2007  02:17 PM ET

Yes, But COLOTON ORR knocked him out. That guy can't fight his way out of a paper bag.

July 17, 2007  02:17 PM ET

And, oh, jdh, some of the posters here even know what they're talking about, like Dynamo47 and goCanada. Fedoruk is a very game guy but if he keeps trying to be a tough guy, his mother will have to smell him to recognize him! He does a lot more catching than throwing!

July 17, 2007  02:19 PM ET

Anon, granted Orr won his last 2 fights [Fedoruk and Janssen.] I watched every Ranger game that he has played in since he came from Boston. Those are the only 2 fights he won. Watching Orr fight is like watching two old people fornicate.

July 17, 2007  02:24 PM ET

Correction, the Flyers need an enforcer who doesn't need a straw to eat his steak like you, Mr. Fedoruk. You are to hockey enforcers what Tex Cobb was to heavyweight boxing :a punching bag. Although, punching bags don't get KO'd nearly as often as you. Apologies to punching bags everywhere....

July 17, 2007  03:18 PM ET

ok fedoruk was a good fighter till he got his face all mashed up then he acted like a lil kid when it came to fighting you can't go into a fight in the nhl cautious like he did against orr other wise your gonna get knocked the f*** out i say give riley cote a chance he went up against orr and he fared preaty well give him a shot and we will be fine and eager can hold his own out there then you have richards who also can throw them we will be fine here in philly with out the likes of cry baby (fedoruk)

July 17, 2007  03:48 PM ET

Mr. Fedoruk. I will forever remember that so-called "fight" where you were tuned up on ONE PUNCH. If that's the type of enforcer this team needs.....I fear for our season...

July 17, 2007  04:37 PM ET

efizzle - check out some of Orr's fights in BOS. He knocked the hell outta a couple guys. There's probably vids on youtube if you care to look them up. I'm not saying he's the heavyweight champ, but he's a damn tough SOB and can hold his own against anybody, including paper bags, and obviously Fedoruk.
