11:45 AM ET 07.17 | South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier should finally see some money from the raise he received last year. Amid overtures from Miami and Alabama about their coaching vacancies this past December, Spurrier agreed to a $500,000 raise and a one-year contract extension. More than seven months later, Spurrier has yet to sign the deal. The way it was structured, the amendments to Spurrier's original, $1.25-million annual deal were to take effect July 1. But with USC's athletic department now in better financial shape, the executive committee of the Board of Trustees is expected to re-structure Spurrier's contract again and make the raise retroactive to Jan. 1. The executive committee will vote on the matter today.

Wow, USC shows it's a true 'football powerhouse' when they throw a raise to a guy who got their team to go 2 games over 500. That record would get youfired from: Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, LSU, in the SEC alone!!!

I agree, the REAL USC is on the west coast. I just used it in referring to South Caroliona because Fan Nation did.

Better give Steve the money before they **** him off. Man's the best thing that has ever happened to SC. In 08 the SEC East better watch out as a new sheriff just might be in town.
