06:22 AM ET 07.20 | Michael Vick's legal troubles prompted Nike to suspend the release of its latest product line named after Vick. Nike has told retailers it will not release a fifth signature shoe, the Air Zoom Vick V, this summer. Dean Stoyer, a Nike spokesman, said the four shoe products and three shirts that bear Vick's name will remain in stores.

Nike will hold any upcoming projects, but will not "pull" any shipped inventory. At worst they will mark down items that will depreciate at wholesalers anyway.

Vick is a first time offender, but boy what an offense it is. Pacman Jones and Tank are knuckleheads, but other than having a really bad crowd (and probably being bad themselves) they committed offenses that could be applied to any of us. They drank, drove and did stupid stuff. They did it in the open at strip clubs at 3am. They are at the whim of alchohol, their stupidity or friend's stupidity. Vick's alleged offense however takes a lot of intent and planning and execution.

Hate to agree with a Titans fan, but yeah, there must be something in the water. Maybe it's inbreeding?

All this talk about the beginning of the "Joey era". Will somebody open Petrino's and Blank's eyes, so they can realize that they have a younger, better, and without all the baggage version of Vick sitting on the bench waiting for his turn to shine. His name is DJ. Everybody in Georgia remembers him. Great place and great time to give him that chance. What do we as a franchise have to lose?

Hey titans fan, Vick was from Virginia, and Benoit was from Canada. Pacman is just an idiot, there's always one in every state, but don't label the state because of one idiot.

It would be sad if the stuff that's out there becomes more valuable as a collector's item if Vick is convicted.

Smart move by Nike. They're doing what's right: not completely casting him out but being cautious of his status.
ugadog77, I think uga nation is thinking of DJ right now; I still think he may need some more time to develop in the NFL. Even in DJ's thrid year of college, he played like crap against GT. I just think that he needs more time b/c it'll only be his second year this next season. "Joey Harrington era" riiiiiiight.
does anyone else think that Petrino might try to get Brohm after this season?
Heheh, "crunk juice" in the water. Oh Little John.
How 'bout 'em

I understand that, but hell, Joey??? He has proven that he was a waste. If DJ can't run the offense, then yes draft Brohm. But if DJ can run an offense that was built for a running qb, then all hail the new face of the Falcons. And get rid of Vick. We should be able to get something. And please, how bout em, don't label DJ because he had one bad game against GT. How many bad games did Calvin Johnson have against UGA. As a matter of fact, I don't remember a good one.

And by the way, UGA won that game against GT (14-7).

Are you making threats via the internet? I guess it is inbreeding. Look Uga, I'll go slow. You cant actually do anything. See? it's a computer screen. Tap it. Go ahead. nevermind. Hey Nero, does crunk juice remove your sense of humor?

Until pro sports eliminates "The Thug" athlete, we will continue to see more and more actions like this from the NFL, and the NBA. Pro Sports needs more people like Bret Farve, John Elway, Dan Marino, Tom Brady, Payton Manning and zero like Pacman Jones, Mike Vick and other of this sort. Getting rid of "The Thug" in sports will, no doubt, produce a much better and entertaining product for the leagues and the fans. Every single athlete, from college to pro, MUST have a character clause tied to their scholarships and contracts. Breaking this character clause means an immediate and lifetime ban from the sport.

chaz, chaz, chaz. See, I'm not mad, just hate to see little nerds sitting at their computer, making accusations and labeling the entire state because of the athletes who have made stupid mistakes in that state. I bet you get off on talking at the computer, don't you. You think I threatened you by saying "watch your mouth". Wow, are you still nursing? Have you been out in the real world lately? Get up off ****, go outside, and label some stranger because of the state he is from. See what happens. And that's not a threat, it's more like real life. People are proud of where they are from.
