Dodgers, Braves lining up for Tex?
The Dodgers have talked with the Rangers about Mark Teixeira, but those conversations have moved slowly. Teixeira could become more interesting to Atlanta as the trade deadline nears.

He would be a big help to either team. The Dodgers need pitching more than hittting, so they probably shouldn't trade for him considering the Rangers are gonna be asking for alot of pitching.

The talks with the Dodgers start with Loney and Highland Parks own, Clayton Kershaw.

dont understand why we are going after teixeira when he have loney doing a solid job at first base , swapping these two, plus having to give up another top prospect for a guy that will demand close to 20 mill a year just makes no sense whatsoever .. if we are going to send our top young players out on trades it better be for a very good starting pitcher.

It would be another ridiculous trade in Dodgers history if that Kershaw/Loney for Tex deal went down.
Loney's OPS is .960 and his projections aren't much lower. Dodgers' problem is NOT first base but in center and 3rd with Pierre and Nomar.
This is not even mentioning the fact that we won't have to pay Loney any kind of money for a while and Tex makes 11. Or that Loney hasn't had injury problems and Tex has a history. Or that he only actually makes 11 for 1 more year after this season until he leaves.

the dodgers should not make this trade tex isnt even consistent and we need someone on third base...and we can get someone much better for 20 million a year

Loney, Kemp and Kershaw should be considered untouchable. The Rangers are going to end up with nothing for Tex when he walks as a free agent, so with that in mind the Dodgers shouldn't give up anything more than Delwyn Young (an amazing talent stuck in a Dodgers outfielf logjam), Tony Abreu and Greg Miller.

Teixeira hits pretty well with runners in scoring position, but is hopeless in a two-strike count and fans way too much as a result. And no way I'd be happy if they had to give up Loney to get this guy.
Coletti: don't make a deal just so you can say you made a deal. We need more help in the bullpen and at the back of the rotation than we do elsewhere, particularly first base. Loney's going to be a very good major leaguer, and he should be allowed to realize that potential in a Dodger uniform.

Dodgers1824... not too shure where you heard that tex has a history of being hurt he was riding a 550 consecutive games started streak before he got hurt for a lil less than a month. One thing about tex his attitude sucks here in texas because the rangers aren't doing well and he wants to win, if they trade him to a good team he will make a huge difference in that lineup and will become one of the better players in baseball given a couple of years.

Tex and Jaime Wright might be enough to pull a strong deal. Just need Tex out of here, over rated and empty stats...the way A-Rod does it.

I think the Halos should consider trading for Texeira. He would be nice protection for Vladdy.

i agree w/ kamat...tex is gone after 08, i think so offering up dodger assets is too short term.
also, tex's agent is boras(s)....
