07:15 AM ET 02.09 | Manu Ginobili never thought he'd wear another team's uniform. Now, he has to allow that it is possible. The 32-year-old Ginobili now knows that there is no contract extension coming from the Spurs, and that he probably won't be in San Antonio next season.

LOL.....I think he just threw up in his mouth

As an educated Spurs fan, I can tell you that this comes as a shock to no one but uneducated Spurs fans. While I will mourn his departure (and the $200 bucks I spent on his jerseys), it is time for him to go.

February 9, 2010  08:45 AM ET

They could trade him right now to the LAKERS for Morrison and another unnamed (really I don't know the guys name) player from the bench. LOL

February 9, 2010  08:46 AM ET

Tough to see the Duncan-Parker-Ginobili core break up...

February 9, 2010  08:49 AM ET

that sucks.......Looks like my Spurs are done this year (Ginolboli or not), they lost against the Lakers on last night minus Kobe. Spurs are not beating any team that is competitive....agony, agony.....

February 9, 2010  08:58 AM ET

Come to the Magic!

February 9, 2010  09:00 AM ET

Well I said at the beginning of the year that the Spurs were done.....They cant win on the road and they havent been a strong home team this year and they only have 12 home games left.....They are old and cant defend even remotely like they used to...

C'mon Gino - When your not making the contributions for the type of money getting paid then it's a no-brainer on their part. Want to stay in SA - Take less upfront and make more of an impact!!

February 9, 2010  09:24 AM ET

Manu Ginobili knows that there is no contract extension coming from the Spurs, well maybe the Spurs will not extend the $10.7m, think it would need to be 5% raise under the CBA, but may offer a MLE $5.5m +/- for Next Year when NO team offers Manu a $11.3m contact, you think

February 9, 2010  09:25 AM ET

this story was just made up, manu has never said any such thing, and spurs management is notorious for never talking to the media...he will take less to stay with the spurs..

February 9, 2010  09:30 AM ET

regarding all the comments about the spurs this year, remember playoffs are all about seedings and matchups, so it is a different animal..but yes spurs are not looking good, yet they looked good last year going into the playoffs and got destroyed by dallas...so what does that mean??/ on a side note richard jefferson has been horrible for them. gets outrebounded by everyone, no aggresion driving to the hoop, anyone touches him he overreacts and misses his shot, whines to the refs constantly... what happened to this guy???

February 9, 2010  09:32 AM ET

i want at the Bulls

February 9, 2010  09:57 AM ET

He'd fit in with Toronto' System and European type Squad!!

February 9, 2010  09:57 AM ET

he still has value....just not the 10-11 mil that he's currently making...next year he'll be a celtic/laker/spur for a manageable amount....

meanwhile RJeff is prolly the worst trade/signing of the off season...he's been chunkin junk all season long....

February 9, 2010  10:00 AM ET

He can be a serviceable backup behind Sasha Vujacic..

RJ girl left him, remember the on / off Wedding Remember in MILW / NJ RJ was option #2
behind Redd / Carter with the Spurs option #3 maybe Duncan/Parker/???
and the bad news for the Spurs Jefferson $15.2m for next year, he has an ETO but no way does he Opt-Out

Ginobili is getting healthy. His play last night was reminiscent of the type of player he was. The Spurs have a tough decision come summer. Ginobili is pretty much resigned to be leaving the Spurs but you never know.

He has always been a thorn in the side of the Lakers so I wouldn't be sad to see him move on but I have always admired his play.

he'll be in Toronto next season.
