06:46 AM ET 03.04 | Add this note to the pile of instances when trash talking gets to be too much. While Paul Pierce attributed it to competitiveness, Stephen Jackson felt it was more personal. "I respect them as a team, they're a great team and they play hard, but when they get to a point where they get to disrespecting people and it's not about basketball, that's where I have a problem," said Jackson, who has had his share of off-the-court issues during his 10 seasons. "Everybody knows me as a basketball player, but everybody knows me off the court, too. So if it's about basketball, I'm cool. I respect everybody on their team, and I respect them as being a good team, but when it gets to the point where you're disrespecting us as a man, that's another problem."

When trash talkers think it's really personal than there is really a problem. The C's must have gone below the belt to get another trash talker very angry. When trash talking is not about the game anymore than you can really call them cheap shot artist and classless.

Many players accuse the Celtics of talking ish. Makes you wonder what those guys are really like.

All I know that it's easy to get inside this guy's head... after which he may as well be driving around in a car. He is useless then.

Those Bulls teams did that so much I wouldn't be shocked if someone came out to say it was part of Phil Jackson's game plan. How many times did Pippen and Rodman get into Karl Malone's head?.. then there was Pippen & Larry Johnson... All those things affect the outcome of games...

Being able to block out everything and focus for 48 minutes is part of the game and if there's some players out there that don't have that ability its OK for opposing players to exploit that. Steven Jackson clearly can't block out personal stuff during games so yeah... wise Celts can use him for some easy points... go Celts!

When trash talkers start whining about trash talking it just goes to show you how well they can take a dose of their own medicine.

In this case not so well.

Don't come to LA bro.

March 4, 2010  09:41 AM ET

Paul Pierce talking trash? Really?

March 4, 2010  09:53 AM ET

Should have kicked his rearend, but Pierce is not worth it to be put out of the NBA. Too bad Paul will not get a chance to talk trash to Ron Artest.

March 4, 2010  09:54 AM ET

Another jakoff talking about his own personal insecurities as a man. Get him a tissue, he' crying because Kevin and Paul said he wasn't a man. I guess its not to hard to push the buttons and get him off his game, all the Vetrans in the league seem to have no trouble getting under his skin and taking him out of his game

If you cant take a little heat back, then I would say its pretty safe to say maybe his manhood should be in question

Its Stephen Jackson....a player with that kind of history and reputation...should never be playing the victim...ever...

Many players talk trash. Kobe, KG, and so on. If you can't take it, don't dish it. But I do think that the Celtics sometimes go overboard with the trash talking. Just saying...

March 4, 2010  12:14 PM ET

Guess he got out trash talked and needs new material. He acts like he was a stand up guy. the Spurs did not resign him because of character problems, he goes to Indy and has a big part of the "malace at the Palace", goes to G.S. and then wears out his welcome there. He is giving them alot of material to work with, poor poor little Stephen...a jaded victim.

I think the Celtics really have very little room to talk trash to anyone after the back to back debacles against Cleveland and New Jersey. Not only that, but they just got by Detroit the other night. They'd best be getting their collective "selves" together before they start swinging their "appendages" around. Yes, I'm a fan, but I'm not too enamored with or amused by their current incarnation at all. The so-called face of the franchise fades under pressure. The captain of the team is playing with half a hand, the secret weapon they brought in has yet to do to do his job consistently (if at all) and on top of these things, they're having trouble finishing teams off when they have them down. Fix what ails you Celtics, then you won't need to talk trash. Your game will speak for you.

Celtics are cheap talkers led by the barking dog, Kevin Garnett.

March 4, 2010  12:38 PM ET

Get on all fours and bark like Kevin Garnett. Woof, woof!
