Big East could get eight teams in NCAA tourney

07:01 AM ET 03.05 | The Big East may be the most uncertain conference regarding number of teams heading to the NCAA Tournament. Five teams are locks: Syracuse (which might be the No. 1 overall seed), Villanova, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, and Georgetown. Then it's a jump ball among Louisville, Connecticut, Marquette, and Notre Dame. Two of those probably will make it. Three is a real possibility. But they need to win games next week at the Big East tournament in New York. "More media requests than we have had in a while," said Big East associate commissioner John Paquette. "And I'm not sure why." One reason might be the uncertainty.
