09:22 AM ET 03.09 | With Lowry, 23, to be a restricted free agent this off-season, his value has been at least as conspicuous when he was out as when he played. Lowry sounded likely to be torn between his fondness for his place with the Rockets, sharing the point guard position with Aaron Brooks, and "a goal" to be a starter and full-time playmaker. "I want to be in the best situation for me and to win," Lowry said. "I think Houston would be a great home. I wouldn't mind being with the group of guys and the organization is one of the best.

Houston will lock him up for 4 or 5 years and then trade him to fill other holes in the team

March 9, 2010  10:23 AM ET

Houston will sign Lowey as Insurance, cause next summer 2011, Brooks is a RFA

March 9, 2010  10:46 AM ET

Don't sleep Houston - Over the summer lot's of teams will be looking for a young and relatively cheap servicable PG....

While I agree......the term 'servicable' kinda is a bad word to
put on someone- cause it basically means you're a back-up
- I think he is exactly that- a little too small for my tastes, but
absolutely a solid back-up PG....but if you plan for him to be a
starter, I don't think he'd do well as he'll get exposed

Houston is a good team of young guys. They should keep Lowry.
Can Yao finally have a healthy season next year is the question?
Will they resign Scola is another question? I think they should.
They have a good bench also.
Brooks,Martin,Ariza,Scola,Yao(when he returns)
bench: Lowry,Battier,Buddinger,Jeffries,Andersen,Hill,

Get rid of Hilton Armstrong, he has done nothing in this league and is a complete bust!

Do not worry Hilton is a RFA this year = Gone, was just a salary throw in with Martin

And as for FA Scola, that why I hated HOUS trading Landry

Yea Landry is a beast and younger.
They should have traded Scola not Landry.

Yeah but it was the only way to get rid of Tmac and still get a good return player in Martin...trust me this team as well as Memphis,Portland and OKC will be jousting for years to come...for Western Conf..supremacy...

Landry is a lot better now then he was in Houston because he is playing w/ a chip on his shoulder. He was playing all star calibre type of play in Houston already even before he got traded. It was either Landry or Brooks that would have represented Houston in the AllStar. Landry was a lot more consistent.

LOL - Not a starter (At least not shown it yet anyway) but a back up which is exactly what I meant by "servicable"... :-)

no, I know that's what you meant.....

I just meant in general- saying someone is servicable, is like
saying...your girlfriends ok for a fat chick :)
(no offense to any robust ladies on the boards)

LMAO - Reminds me of a couple old jokes - Hope I don't get crucified for them as they are not PC but here goes:

1) What do fat chicks and mopeds have in common.......? They are both cool until your friends catch you on them.

2) Wht do fat chicks and bricks have in common......? They'll both be eventually laid by a mexican.

Hey c'mon I did say it wasn't PC - The crazy thing is I heard this joke from a couple of chicano friends I play softball against after a game and they were scoping out some "full figured" ladies that were watching the game earlier.......

March 10, 2010  10:01 AM ET

Yeah, right. I know what you mean. Some of my best friends are chicanos...

Great for you - And some of my best friends are Irish, Italians, Puerto Ricans, Polish, Indian, Asian, etc.... And we all joke about our own ethnicity/ stereotypes......!!!!
