11:44 AM ET 03.11 | Prior to making a massive trade deal before deadline -- which brought Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood and DeShawn Stevenson over from Washington -- Mavericks owner Mark Cuban considered cleaning out house, sparing only Dirk Nowitzki. "I had to go over every possible scenario," he said. This is good news for Mavs fans, as Cuban clearly showed he plans to explore every possible option come this summer when a slew of top free-agents become available.

Cuban is a smart and dedicated Owner...to bad he owns the Mavs if not I would pull for him...I wonder what will happen this off season when the Mavs dont get that ring again???

Well we certainly wont keep living in the past and upgrade our team instead of keeping the same dinosaurs like the Spares.....If you go to see a Spares game do you have to buy a basketball ticket and a museum ticket to see all those fossils out there.....

Also moron when did I have come on here and brag about the Mavs winning a championship this year like you tried to do all year with your old ass team....Face the facts they are DONE.....Maybe they can tank another season like they have done twice in there history to get a high draft pick....

This could be the year. Dirk's stated that this is the most talented team he's ever had despite all the other success he's had in the past including that trip to the finals. I think that speaks volumes.

Even J-Kidd has gone on the note to publicly state that this is the best team by far he's been with.

THese 2 combined went to 3 finals.

Thank you....I like respectful fans that are realistic and can be objective about other teams no matter who they are....

Honestly, the NBA and all of professional sports should take note of this man. You can't have enough owners in the league like Cuban. As a huge sports fan, it thrills me to see when the owner of your favorite team is as passionate and deteremined to win as the craziest fan.

What other owner actually sits courtside with his team jersey, yells and cheers, has his own personal officating crew, excellent treatment of playres, spends money in the offseason, always looking foward to improving the team, I can just go on forever.

It's alot better than having a fat lazy old owner confined in his own private luxury box behind glass walls being served by servants as if he's better than anyone else.

You may not like Cuba's antics but you have to respect his personality and dedication to his team. He's always looking out for the league and his team's best interests.

Senor Cuban has cojones - Regardless of the outcome his main focus is always getting his team to the "Ship" - You gotta give him his props for sure!

Did anyone notice how they deleted a whole thread???

March 11, 2010  12:36 PM ET

The only thing Cuban does wrong is that he keeps rubbing David Stern the wrong way.. He needs David Stern to bring a championship to Dallas...
Dallas will never win a championship unless David Stern wants it to win...

March 11, 2010  12:37 PM ET

i will give it to him..cuban wants to win and he isnt concerned about money...im hoping he signs joe johnson this offseason

I dont see them really needing him....I mean with Marion and Butler already here for next year....I see them resigning Haywood which he said was his first priority...Then getting a backup center, PF, and maybe a PG....

I mean that was getting the most comments...Did we really need the Devin Harris or Matt Barnes (from two days ago) threads?

Damp who is a backup??? Thats what you do move slowing down players to less prominet roles unlike signing Mcdyess who is on literally his last league and making him a starter....Also Kidd and Terry have missed a total of like 10 to 12 games the last 3 years unlike Parker and Manu who have broken down EVER year....
