Miettinen gets big raise in arbitration
Antti Miettinen was awarded a $435,000 raise by arbitrator Richard Bloch on Monday. Miettinen is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent after the 2007-08 season. The Stars are also close to signing defenseman Vadim Khomitsky to a one-year deal and are in negotiations with restricted free agent Jussi Jokinen.

A big raise? Hardly! I think he was hoping for something more along the lines of what Derek Roy got in Buffalo, I'm sure. He'll get another raise next year when he becomes a UFA.
